Suspect Actions/doosra Bowlers

A thread geared towards gathering information and encouraging discussion on bowlers whom are called for chucking or bowlers you suspect have an illegal action.

So Sunil Narine has finally been called up. I questioned on another thread as to when he will be called up and finally he has. The timing is perfect also on the eve of the West Indian tour of India of which Narine is expected to play a big part in. Its coincidental that the strongest West Indian team to tour the sub continent in the last decade against possibly the weakest Indian team in the last decade may probably have to do without the 2nd top ranked ODI bowler in Sunil Narine, now that smells of BCCI interference!

Well in fairness to India, Ashwin & Jadeja don't chuck, Ojha though I think does. I'm liking the crackdown so far...I have no complaints with who's been cited so far, they all look dodgy.

It seems the ICC's decision to take no action over the past few years has well and truly bitten them in the arse. Whilst I am happy to see people whose action is suspect being called up it is disappointing to have so many players called up in such a short space of time, particularly with the World Cup under five months away.

A lot needs to be asked of each individual country where bowlers with illegal or dodgy actions seem to be coming through at a rate of knots and little to nothing is being done to help these bowlers remodel their action so it is considered acceptable.

Yep Narine called up for his arm ball/faster one and not his off spinner or his carom ball. Just like Shillingford was called up only for his doosra and Samuels only for his arm ball/faster one.

Clearly some massive BCCI conspiracy.

Chairman of selectors for the WI has indicated same, not calling out the BCCI though, but BCCI is ICC!

Before we came here we were told that they were going to call Narine, so it's quite obvious that something must have been said somewhere," he said. "I really can't tell you that [who it was] but I can tell you it's a highly reliable source, because we have to make contingency plans for things like that just in case it happens,"

While I'm not looking for a conspiracy, Shillingford was allowed to still bowl as long as he doesn't bowl the doosra. Surely that's the logical decision for Narine instead of pulling him out altogether? I guess they want to do further testing on his other deliveries.

Ive had some discussions regarding Narine being pulled out and it seems Clive Lloyd isn't interested in any spinners, farless a mystery one, in his playing days as captain he wanted four pace men and as slector chairman it seems he wants four pacers also. Either that or the ghost of the last WI tour of India has reared its head once more as a poor team was selected to generate a Sachin 100 in his farwell series!

Playing only seamers with the 'quality' of West Indies pace men would be stupid. Other than Roach and Holder who's still developing, they don't have quality pace men as yet.
