It terrible to have a club that is successful and that people come to off their own back wanting to play for.
I agree.. The kiwi should never have accepted a job in Geelong forcing him to have to play cricket here, or at least should do the right thing and commute back to NZ each week to play...

I would not expect that they would have layed the whole square.
First few weeks are generally a mixture of grass, clippings and rolled dirt.
Good for spinners and reverse swing.

The draw has been relatively successful with.
8 teams drawn to play a team that played finals, and a team that did not, in rounds 1 and 2 (therefore playing twice)
2 teams will play 2 teams twice that did not play finals.

The 3 candidates had the opportunity to promote themselves and Steph was the only one there. Both other candidates had someone else speak up for them. This may have been the difference. I am not sure how close the vote was. It seemed relatively close.

The remaining 60% is something that the club has a lot more control of. Attentance at meetings, qualified junior coaches, payment of affiliation on time.
I think that club championship is the decider unless the club has major shortfalls...

I am not sure what other clubs curators are like but we seem to be on the receiving end of a curator trying to be too fair.
Most clubs have pride in their facilities and aim to host finals cricket.
I would not expect to see clubs that are hosting Div1 finals...

With little chance of a win do you pray for rain. Yes sure.. Do you make your pitch unplayable or prepare a dodgy to try to get points that you do not deserve... Never.
