it doesnt matter how far your forward stride is if your gets hit on the toe champ
maybe you should practice a bit more
by the sounds of it your not really a batsman
dont question the umpires i think they know what they are talking about
its pretty sad when you get hit...

i need to think about the game because im a captain
when im in good form i usually hit almost everything on the middle
just when im in bad form i hit my drives towards the toe
it might be im not picking up the ball
but its only when im in bad form

another thing may be psychological
there may be nothing wrong with his technique
when the ball is full he likes to cover drive
if he knows cover driving is his strength he probably wants to play it as much as possible
junior batsman are always told to play...

i used to have a problem with the same thing
take him to the nets and give him throwdowns for a while
just full on his legs,
do this consistently and get him used to playing balls on the leg side
he'll get it
Heavy Bats
i have a fairly heavy bat and was using it well early on last season
towards the end of they year i was playing late at alot of balls
could this be the bat or just poor form?
