Hi all, I'm a left arm quick who doesn't really know what he's doing.. and could use some advice! I've been out of cricket for the last 9 years, due to injury / work / ect, and I'be just signed up for my first season back. I can bowl fast (at least, for the level im playing in), and have reasonable control over line, length and a few variations (inswing, away seam). Problem is, I don't really know which to bowl, and when. similar with field placements - I'm an attacking bowler and I want to get these right!

Any advice on tactics, field placements or anything else you feel useful would be appreciated.....

I used to bowl inswing and got a bit of out swing so here some ideas

Dont bowl too full

Inswing get ball to swing into the corridor ( just outside off stump ) and off stump with variations of this
Out swing swing away from off. Have slips.

Vary these up with slow balls, your away seamer and the Yorker and bouncer.

At the death try and bowl straight Yorkers right inside the wide line or in swinger Yorkers ( watch malingas balls for general area) Dont be afraid to bowl the slow ball or the bouncer ( but have protection)

Sorry i don't have much on Fielding but yeah.
