South Australia 6 - 5 - 1 2 -0.836

Each team plays seven games so Victoria and South Australia are out of contention for the finals. Tasmania can still make it but need to win two games (with at least one bonus point) but probably their last three and hope Queensland don't win any of their last two games.

New South Wales could drop out also but would need to seriously fall over to do so while Western Australia can mathematically drop out but are in a good position to go straight through to the final. 2 vs 3 play an elimination final with the winner progressing to the decider.

Only five games left and the weather is reasonable all week so we should see all five games get a result.

So Western Australia have won the Matador BBQ's One-Day Cup for 2014/15, their first one-day domestic competition win since 2003/04. The Warriors only lost one game for the entire tournament and have certainly turned things around in this form of the game after finishing last in the two previous editions of the series. It's the first time a team has gone from last to first in one season since New South Wales in 2005/06 after finishing on the bottom the season previously. Funnily enough 2005/06 was the last time the Blues' won the domestic one-day competition.

Overall, WA's victory was their 12th one-day domestic competition title, the most of any state. They've also finished runners up 10 times for a total of 22 finals in the 45 times the cup has been contested, quite a remarkable record. That's a final played every two seasons which is a very good strike rate.

With the one-day competition over attention now turns to the Sheffield Shield and the Big Bash League which begins in around six weeks time.

Congratulations to the Alcohol. Think Again Western Australia Warriors for winning the 2014/15 Matador BBQ's One-day Cup!!

Klinger, Agar - Victorian ;)

Have to admit. WA has the best colours of the lot.

This comp gets potted with this format. It's used to diminish cricket's relevance. But you know, I've actually watched more of these last to tournament, than I had seen for years. The only things that annoys me about it. I went to the Vic/Qld final early last year, and said to myself that I was going to go to more games next summer. They then condense it into a little tournament, with no games at the G. Shame.
