Test XI Selection Thread

I see! Maybe cricket australia didn't think he was right to go up to the next level. A bit like kayne richardson the other night where the nerves got to him in the game and wouldn't leave him be.
There's a difference between playing for state and playing at the elite level sport. It's amazing how many talented state players don't make it to the elite level. Peter nevill is great against players from australia. However he might be like Liam Anthony from north melbourne footy club. Was awesome at state level but couldn't find his way through the elite level.

Nevill's lack of opportunity is due to Haddin still being the country's number one wicketkeeper in all three formats of the game. Given Haddin is approaching the end of his career this will change sooner rather than later. The selectors obviously see Wade as the number two right now given his participation in the recent ODI series against South Africa although with the form Nevill has shown of late I'm not sure why. But since he did play for Australia "A" earlier in the year that's a promising sign that he is on the radar.

Holy crap! Just saw phil hughes cop a nasty bouncer in the sheffield shield game at the scg. He's being rushed to hospital as we speak. Ball hit him right in the temple where you don't want to be hit.

Apparently the team for tomorrow will be:

Chris Rogers, David Warner, Shane Watson, Michael Clarke (c), Steve Smith, Mitchell Marsh, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Johnson, Peter Siddle, Ryan Harris, Nathan Lyon. Josh Hazlewood (12th)

Shaun Marsh was only training with them just in case Clarke didn't pass his fitness test.
