2016/2017 Barclay Shield

Spoken like somebody with great cricket smarts. Tongs wouldn't entertain the thought of picking up the ball. He is definitely the type to have the ball sit at his feet and let the fielder come and get it, and that's the truth.

I wouldn't pick it up for your cheating captain.

While I'm at it the SFOPCC were a disgrace yesterday. One well known individual is tolerated at that place and invites some very ordinary behaviour amongst his team mates and other club members and should be encouraged to give it away. For a 50 year old bloke to carry on the way he does is an embarrassment. It's an ordinary time when our club president has to instruct our senior players to make sure no young player leaves the change room alone unescorted. I'm led to believe that the umpires will following up with a report against the club.

This coming from someone supporting a side that has one of their players almost reported for decent, you can ask ur umpire mates about that. Refusing to walk after given out, and another young kid taking it upon himself to veer offline while running to shoulder the bowler. The 2nd incident which created the animosity between the sides.
As far as John goes, his stats still stack up against most in the comp, and easily still one of the best keepers. Age is just a number. Players scared for ur safety? You've got rocks in your head. It's funny how every club always stays back after our games.

Why would you be reported for being decent?

A) it's not newsworthy
B) the use of the word Allegedly - why not ask the the umpires what was actually said
C) Davidson giving an opinion without being informed of the facts from all concerned parties[/QUOTE]

I was there and watched everyball and don't wish to make comment as ultimately it is irrelevant what i think of the incident.
The thing that dissapoints me, and our boys have been guilty of the same thing at times, is the "tradition" of having a drink ( soft or beer ) seems to diminish every year. This is something that could've been sorted out and discussed by those involved on the day after stumps were called. It's a shame that didn't happen. As a spectale, despite the low scores, it was an entertaining game to watch.

Disgrace? SFOPCC gave the same as they got. Nothing more, nothing less. Clubs go out of their way to antagonise JB, and then complain when he or others bite back. And to say your president insisted your young players be escorted to their cars, what a joke. Doubt it happened, and if it did was not required. What was a disgrace was some of the things coming from your supporters mouths. I wonder if they'll enjoy watching Money Shield next year?
'Keep motivating me, I love it.' Obviously the motivation hasn't done you guys any good, another day 1 defeat.

So ourselves and the umpires were wrong. Our negligent of us.

JB's contribution to cricket on and off the field cannot be ignored. Old school cricketer that can still match it with the best in Barclay.
Timmy Wise was within the rules obviously but to compare it with mankadding is silly. Mankad is ok as the batter at the non strikers end is seeking an advantage...from all reports - the batsman in the Wise incident was clearly not attempting the run. So yeah its a s#$t act, a desperate act that may just keep them in the finals.

And I know Tom was warned for telling one of the umpires to 'F off', so worry about your own mob.
I think you should worry about scoring those necessary runs this week and not have to rely on us doing you a favour. Don't count on the favour though;). As far as your counter claims. I'll stick with the many eyewitness accounts partial and impartial and the many messages from oppo club people who share the same opinion of the little angry 50yo chubby fella with the high pants and increasingly a dislike for OP's. One successful club who is anti sledging told me "all bets are off when they play OP".

Very mature, Brutal. You're better than that.

If there are issues, either get your club to file a report or suck it up. Likewise with the umpires. Otherwise, it just appears to be sour grapes.
