Player Movements & Rumours 2016/17

bit prickly there serge? maybe you should pop down to your club outside of your
As for player movement, hearing recruiting going well at Laurimar,
What happened to Yarrambat? Are they consigned to history now? what kind of merge was that?
Laurimar is essentially Yarrambat isn't it? A lot of the same core people out there running a new club I thought. Same as Old Paradians is just St. Francis at a different venue with a different name?

Laurimar has a fair few old Yarrambat guys, but not the ones that ran Yarrambat.
Part of the history of Yarrambat will be kept alive at both PVCC and Laurimar, but they are completely separate entities.

Certainly a strong DVCA influence at PVCC. Glenn Butterworth, David Love and Paul Baker captaining the 2's, 3's, 4's.

Anybody know how Plenty landed Kenroy Peters? bloke is gonna wreak havoc!

He should do alright, but wreak havoc? He was bowling mid 120's a few years ago, he's the wrong side of 30 and probably slowed down a bit since then. I also think that professional players can get dragged down to our level a bit when playing park sport. He should do well, but I don't think he's going to blow sides away.

Agree 100%. Let's face it, he played one test for a test team that was/is a mere shadow of its former self. Will be handy, but no better and perhaps not even close than the multitude of Sri Lankan "first class" participants that grace our playing fields every summer. Might embarrass a few boys in the showers though;)

I played in a t20 comp a few years ago, and I cant remember the name, but the opposition team also had an ex west indies bowler similar reputation to kenroy peters, and he performed fairly average. He bowled tidy line and length with good technique but hardly blew sides away.

Since it's been a while, I'm sure plenty of you are chomping at the bit to know what I've been up to and how my beloved 'Searchers' are going. As you know, myself and Tongs had a falling out which is not unusual with great partnerships. Think of "Simon and Garfunkel", "Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis", "Bob Hawke and Paul Keating", "Shane Warne and Adam Gilchrist", just to name a few. Anyway, all is forgiven:D. I've spent my sabbatical wisely and have been working behind the scenes masterminding a new era at Reccc. Back at the club as Head coach is one of our favourite sons and Barclay Premiership team member, Paul
Cusma. Helping him is Ross Davies who is of the well known Davies clan. Also back on board in a specialised role is former coach of us, Old Paradians and Essendon premier side, Wayne Taylor. Club and comp legend as well as former comp medalist Tom MacDonald who will assist as a bowling and batting technical coach. A group of the younger guys have been training at a private facility since the start of May, whilst official indoor seesions started about 4 weeks ago with attendances around the 25-30 mark for each Monday session. Also an extra Saturday morning session which has been focussing on fielding and fitness with 15-20 ave, has been happening at the College hockey facility. All in all everything is going well and enthusiasm is high. We'll have one or two new faces, but primarily it will be about development of the young blokes. Hope that helps gentlemen. If I can assist with any rumours of substance, please ask. How are you Sergio? I'm hearing the Macleod training is exclusively a ones only affair and a few are not happy with that arrangement. You need to get down there and sort it out mate;)

Training dates for Macleod are there for all to see on the Facebook page and open to all members.
I'm sure Tim knows what he is doing in relation to any additional stuff he has organised.
