Vtca Season 2016-17

You need to give the new guys a chance. Yes been poorly run for awhile but the new guys need to be judged on what they do and i believe one of them is a very good operator.

Any chance the VTCA can learn how to structure a fixture properly?

How can you have a 12 team comp with 12 rounds? Teams play 10 teams once, while playing another twice in either a one-dayer and two-dayer or 2 two dayers.

This defies logic! Teams will play 1 day of cricket against some teams and 3 or 4 against others! Worse fixturing than the AFL!

Surely you would just make one of the one dayers into a two dayer or if you have to have 12 rounds you would play one team in 2 one dayers rather than what dross they have come up with.

Want to talk about defying logic? How about this from the VTCA (when we were in it).

Every year, the VTCA would schedule Middle Park sides to play at home in the last two weekends of February, despite repeatedly being asked not to.

Every year, we would have to play those 'home' games at a neutral ground, or at the opposition's on a Sunday.

It reach a new point of stupidity 3 years ago, when we had two teams in the same one-day comp, and they were to play each other at home in late February!

Oh, and why couldn't we play at home in the 2nd half of Feb each year? Cause we lost our grounds to something called the GRAND PRIX! Only been happening every year for about 20 years.

So early in the season who look the sides to beat in all the grades?

Looks like Yarraville Club are streets in front of everyone else in Senior Division with everyone else playing for second place. Tulla and Greenvale fighting it out to be relegated.

North west
Druids, St Albans look like the best sides on paper and have started well, with Altona North surprisingly starting well at 3-0.

Aberfeldie have a star studded team, but have started 1-2, expect them to bounce back after a strong win against West Coburg last week and be in contention later in the year.

In North West A1 it looks like the North clubs will dominate again. Glenroy Westmeadows and St Francis all look good sides they should be the top 3. Royal Park/Brunswick are ok then Pascoe Vale next followed by the west teams who appear not up to it again.

Have some VTCA branded balls for sale. We could use them as training balls but figured they’d be more use to a club actually playing in the VTCA!!!
Happy to arrange a price that will be much cheaper than you can get them for.

What has happened to Roxburgh Park? I saw where they forfeited the previous round in North A 1 & 2. Now they are gone & Flemington have been moved from North A to West A to cut out the bye.
