Go off at 36 degrees measured from Viewbank.
Can't go back on until directed by DVCA once temperature drops below.
Not sure how the overs work maybe brutal knows but I think side batting first can bat their 80 overs or when they lose all 10 wickets whichever falls first , then side batting second bats 80 overs MINUS overs lost to heat.
Maybe someone who plays can let people know otherwise as I could be wrong ( but it's what I've observed over the years)
If we still have the spare day on Monday (public holiday), then a full or partial heat out shouldn’t matter. If not, then I’d imagine side batting first would do so under same rules as home and away.

If side batting first is lower ranked, then they’d need to give higher ranked side same amount of balls or bowl them out in less to get result.

Per the Rule book -

Semi Finals will be played under normal Two Day conditions, exceptthat either team can concede the match at any time.In addition, the clause (S7-Adverse Conditions) relating to therestarting of a match on Day 2 in the event of 20 overs not being bowled on Day 1, will not apply if a Reserve Day is available.

Reserve Day - In the event of more than 45 minutes being lost on either day due to Adverse Conditions, the balance of the overs lost is available to be used on the Reserve Day.

Play on the Reserve Day will cease once a 1st innings result is achieved. In the event of both Days 1 and 2 of the match beingabandoned, the Reserve Day will revert to One Day Conditions.

Monday is a reserve day as well.

Could be an interesting long weekend, BOM has the weather at Watsonia at 39 now!

Call it early. Say Friday evening.

Use the emergency day.

But no doubt Footy practice matches will go ahead.🤷🤷

It'll be hottest by around 5ish anyway, most of the innings will be complete. If you lose 5-10 overs on the Saturday, might as well start early or finish later on the Sunday.
Also, how often do 160 overs get bowled in a two day game.

At least for the competing teams, the conditions are tough on both days, would suck if you bowled on the Saturday and Sunday was 20deg and overcast.

32* and sunny for Sunday according to the BOM, presumably a touch higher in Viewbank

Watsonia Forecast - 30 for Friday / 39 for Saturday / 35 for Sunday / 35 for Monday

Ridiculous that all G grade games, to be played by old(er) blokes and kids has no adjustments, and some teams will need to play Saturday and Sunday (in a Prelim) with kids also potentially playing on the Friday night as well which is scheduled for 30....

What adjustments would you propose ?
The weather is the weather - not much can be done about that

Play finals a week or two before ?

Change the 35 over format to 28 or even 20 per side .... or start play at 11.30am; these games are normally done by 5, so they'll be finished by 4 or earlier. Show a little bit of imagination and work around the situation at hand.

Is it possible for the games to start earlier?
Might be something to consider with Sunday and Monday probably being heated off from 2pm onwards if the temperature isn't dropping overnight.

At the same time I guess this is another advantage to finishing in the higher ladder position that a no result is all you need.

Good luck to all and stay as hydrated as possible!

The reserve day is the counter for the poor weather, just extremly unlucky/unfortunate timing this weekend that both days are forecast to hit the limit.
