Mm read the article by Robbie Mackinlay interesting remarks considering that when you play negative cricket as Lavington do ie bowling two foot wide of the off stump you won't get outright wins. Well done those teams that play game the way it is meant to be played. Also notice that didn't say...
the provisonal first grade draw, I know the draw is completed before the season but the team that gets to play wodonga Raiders twice would appear to get an unfair advantage over the rest of the competition. Perhaps the association should look at ways to eliminate this next season
Belvoir obviously all of your players didn't go to spec savers to check their eyes because every delivery that beats the bat or hits the pad results In them all appealing for a wicket even at square leg. Have they ever heard the story about the boy they cried wolf?
Part timer, you miss the point the wicket is supposed to be in the same condition as it was in week 1. I have no connection with either team. My query is would this have occurred if north Albury were batting second? Bad sportsmanship?
I was not at the game between North's and Albury but spoke to a North's supporter
and he informed me that he thought North's should be in trouble over the state
of the wicket. Apparently it wasn't just the run ups one end of the wicket was very
damp to use his description.
The game in question was between North Albury and Albury at Bunton Park, I can't understand
why the matter has not been reported on. Perhaps Cricket Albury Wodonga don't want it
publicized or maybe there is some other reason behind it.
Couldn't agree more Got him gone you play the game for hell of it but the aim is to try and win and ultimately
win the competition especially 1st grade.
I have also heard the rumour about Jackson but I don't know what to make of it, there were rumours going round last year and they turn out to be just that rumours. As for Farrell I don't think Robbie and him would mix to well, he is a good cricketer and would be handy pickup for any club. I...
Well the Grandfinal Teams have been decided, East Albury will be very hard to beat the only thing I can see going against
them is that their middle and bottom order batsmen have not had much cricket in the middle of late. Having said that
their top order has been very strong. Tallangatta are a...
I was in favour of the 4 team finals system as set out by "Got him gone", but when the competition is year was so close for positions
three to six I can see merit in it. When team five beats team two as happened on the weekend teams five and six are just not there making up the numbers. As I...
It appears that we are going to have a pretty good finish to the season in Provincial four teams vying for three spots and all have a good show of making it. St Pats look to have one spot tied up, could finish as high as 4th, but I reckon the phones will be running hot next Saturday finding out...
Yeah certainly was heaps of runs on the weekend, East Albury's wicket seems to be a bit more batsman friendly this seasons with over 650 runs scored. As Bally said in the paper it may be a long season for the bowlers. Also had a look at St Pats and Raiders I would have to say Raiders had the...
I know North Albury and St Pats have been training for a few weeks, I went past East Albury and they working on the training
area during the week. As for signings I hav'nt heard anything that has been verified as yet just what Ritchie said St Pats are
looking at a player from overseas. It...
Player movements, I have been reliably informed that Jackson and Co. are staying at Wodonga and in fact Jackson was a bit offended that anyone would suggest he was going elsewhere. So I suppose that
puts that one to bed. As for Tallangatta I still keep hearing murmurs that they are going to...
I have not heard of any player movements at this time but as for Robbie Jackson I don't know. After last years grand final I think it was at the mad Monday celebrations when interviewed by the paper he used words like this Club (Wodonga) has things in place and has a good structure now he did...
I have heard that Andrew Lade wants to play in town next year apparently sick of travelling for training etc. but I have not heard where he wants to play. So Lade leaves and if Steve Woods retires again it will leave Tallangatta a bit short not much in the seconds. I would say Tallangatta will...
I agree they are a side that seems to accept decisions and just move on. I also think that the toss of a coin or a bad decision in the finals can cost you a game, so all that hard work during the season is to no avail. Moving on has anyone heard of any player movements or retirements for next...
