Cricket Victoria - South East Bayside League

Definitely tightened the competition up now. Any team is capable of beating any other. Quite interesting watching local club cricket without 3 imports in each team. And Div 1 had two tied matches in the first round!

VSDCA is receiving administration funding from CV. It's fairly common knowledge that the CV Board is being led by the nose by 2 VSDCA aligned CV Board members and are only now catching on to the unintended consequences of the recent purge. I think it important that as many people in community...

Be interested if they accept the affiliation. Might be a case of Subbies throwing them in and seeing what they say....

Cricket Victoria - South East Bayside League

Great response from the Chairman of CSB today. On any measure what CV has pulled under the pretense of a response to COVID19 has done the sport immeasurable harm. Good to see the Subbies cheerleader having a gloat. Further underlines how outdated and poorly administered the state governing...

Was told it was definitely Dandenong withdrawing after never having requested financials presented. Made it untenable. Hawthorn-Monash was looking at an approaching season without a ground. You don’t pull out in those circumstances.

Yeah agreed - events have run on a bit since that post. Would doubt there'd be any OS players flying in this season. The issue of sponsorship may mean some decent players end up taking a haircut before the ordinary players get a chance on the milking stool.

What are the odds that Cricket Southern Bayside continues to receive Cricket Victoria support?

Working on the proviso next season is not directly affected, some areas that could be critical are; 1. Local business support- many of our local sponsors will be hurting through this. 2. Airfares??? O/S players may have substantial flight cost increased. 3. Paid players, will be a few clubs...

Point taken, but you are mistaken. Not all of the above will play Firsts. But then again not all are paid players so as you say depth added and no skin lost. Adds some flexibility and accountability on the players selected to perform.

Not my job to correct you, but you’re obviously half as sharp as you think you are. Go read up a bit and educate yourself on the off chance you miss a step, while potting other clubs, champ.

So news is out, Parkdale remains in Championship. Bad luck to Aspendale and their Div 1 Premiers. Good news with St Brigids/St Louis joining, with Turf 1 getting more depth and more teams on synthetic in SECA. Emmanuel South Oakleigh also bringing an MCA team across into the One Day CSB...

Good for Mordialloc to join, very strong club with great people involved at all levels and massive junior program behind them. Don't see why Parkdale will drop back. Avoided relegation in a tough first season in Championship, will look at their recruitment of OS players closely in future, and...

Thanks for the response RTG, and I understand the unease that people have with the concept. I guess VSDCA is unique in suburban cricket with it's geographical spread, now that the VTCA has contracted. I think you should acknowledge the VTCA was developed with the VTCA South clubs at the...
