Does North Balwyn's training involve 10 blokes standing there throwing balls to Patel for 2 hours. Assuming none of the others spend much time trying to become relevant.
Taylor was an absolute star and Shaw is rubbish. They should never be mentioned in the same sentence.
Who thinks the O'Shea pickup will work for Deep? Massive chance to backfire even if it is for nothing.
Bulleen going for a full 11 of district players? Good luck to them although some may have...
That's a great effort by Patel. It does raise the question and it has been discussed to much already, but how is it possible for Nth Balwyn to pay 2 English players as well as Binney and the capt/coach?. Also unless Patel performs all season they are screwed cos the rest of the team is rubbish...
They had most of those blokes last year and were nowhere so not so sure about them.
Good to see Mulgrave sending a heap of money overseas again, they must hate developing locals.
Bears are really bad for throwing the cash around. However, Mont Albert had 2 poms as well as Wright, Vance, Hargreaves etc. Ashy had heaps, GI pay half their side and Mulgrave have been rorting the system for years. It's actually embarrassing what some clubs get away with. More credit to St...
Deep have had the worst Semi record for a long time, however, having won the flag last year the hoodoo has been transferred over to GI. This will be very hard to bounce back from. Red hot favourites, spent a fortune this year and got tight when it counted.
GI will wipe the floor with Mulgrave. Doesn't matter what happened during the year between the two.
The other semi could go either way. If Mont lose early wickets they will become very nervous and St Kevs are hard to stop when they get a run on.
On a side note did Gartner really make 138no...
1. Taylor. Been the most influential player in the comp and deserves it.
2. Grubich - His best year, consistent in performance. Although not consistent in where he bats, hates the hard new ball.
3. Cox - Runs all year and handy wickets may get him a few extra votes. Deserves a Dunstan medal
4...
Eddie Abel won the medal with 187 runs @ 18.7 and 22 wickets. Thats a bit embarassing considering the year that Davo and Thompson had. I think he should have handed it back.
Reg is from North Balwyn. He has to stay anonymous because he is embarassed abour their performance in the past few years. I guess its understandable he would want to remain anonymous!
