    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

I cannot believe Stars and Lower Eltham have made the F grade final! Not because they're bad, but because I was expecting Mill Park to get the job done easily and go all the way. Didn't get to play against Epping due to a poor decision to pull the team out for the last round but, by all reports...

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Not a "shite" comment. But you have tried to justify the clubs actions? ;) One of those calls could've been made to Thommo, asking to delay the game. The lastest a game can start is 1:30pm

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Pretty s*** from Bundoora yesterday in E grade. They pulled out the team from a scheduled game @Thommo about 20 minutes before the game was about to start! To show how haphazardly it was done, the claim was that there wasn't enough players to field a team, then 4 guys turn up, without a clue...

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Rubbish today, playing Mill Park, aside from turning up to the scheduled venue only to find that the game had been moved. After barely getting off the mark, got a regulation nick which the keeper wasn't good enough to take. The ball bobbled to first slip, he wasn't good enough to catch it...

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Poor form Bud, your first post on this thread is to gloat about what is, obviously, a great innings and score. Probably from some guy who should be playing Barclay Shield or thereabouts. Where were you the last 5 months? ;) Not a bad innings anyway. I wonder how many A-graders could knock 200+...

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Should be fun for Thommo 4ths in F grade for the rest of the season. Sitting 5th, 3 of the 4 games are against teams that are in the 4! We've been a bit stiff, selection has messed around with us, more than normal. If we can get that sorted, I reckon we're better that 50/50 of making...

Are you a Kiwi living in NZ or Australia? Do you know about the station I'm talking about?

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Went to the MCG today, first time in many years, '99 Carlton vs Essendon prelim to be exact , don't ask me why, just have. First thing I thought was "Man, Eltham College actually is bigger!" I thought those that told me when playing there were talking s***, saying it to pump up the...

Why Is Cricket Not Popular In The U.s. And Canada?

I read somewhere, the first international game of cricket, a 170/80 years ago, was between Canada and USA!

    2nd Test In Tasmania

I was listening to Radio Sport, I think it is, on the internet obviously. One of their presenters (Mark Watson?), was just ripping into Vettori and McCullum, seriously had enough of them. The criticism of McCullum was similar to what Haddin gets over here, he was also dirty that NZ Cricket was a...

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Was this 3 weekends ago? I would've been playing against her, in fact, I was central umpire. Also, I agree with "Good on both her for having a crack, and the club for giving her a go" I never hear anything good about Lalor, it'd be easy to let her be a witches hat and fill in. Actually, compared...

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

The beefcake part didn't worry me, the fact that I had to concentrate harder and play better just to block him, as opposed to other bowlers at this level, where it's less effort to hit a boundary off them, is where my day was spoilt. :( I'll get over though! Yeah, fair enough too, I figured...

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Looking back, his bowling could actually have been fun to play against, starting off in a one-dayer and had I actually faced, at least a few, similar balls in any time of the previous 7 seasons I've been playing! When I did central umpiring later on, I noticed that not many balls would actually...

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Woo Hoo! Into the second page! So yeah, I know you're supposed to be somewhat anonymous on this but, I was playing Lalor Stars today, and was hoping to make, maybe, mid-20s, low 30s. I'd been batting better than what my last couple of hits would say I did, so I thought this was a reasonable...

    Dvca - C Grade And Below - Season 2011/12

Really? I don't get why you'd think that. From mid-wicket, past fine-leg to gully, it's the non-strikers call, otherwise, you're saying on each occasion it's the strikers call.

    panic running

Stop listening to Ian Chappell's commentary! You play in whatever fashion you're comfortable with (unless your team is in a desperate situation). You don't have to force yourself to do something you're not comfortable with because that's what you've been led to believing is what you should be doing.

    Staying Alert And Awake.

Forget about the short-term future, gonna have to start doing the hours on the pavement, running track, treadmill, freerunner, bike, stepper, etc. and be patient for the results. At least, that's what I know I have to do!
