Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
Salary cap? What salary cap? Does the GCA still have a salary cap big fella?
The GCA seem to be so damn good at policing these things!
Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
To be fair, your 2nds were younger last year than in the last few years, and all clubs have their ups and downs with average age. I just thought it was funny Brew was ridiculing Grovedale for something that South Barwon don't have a great record with. The 3...
Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
Either are most Poms that play for the Poms as displayed again last night. So,when you think about it the ECB must have the same selection criteria as the SBCC.
Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
I have seen Cheer Cheer with most of those emotions and some of them are pretty damn scary, especially the one where he gets a wicket. The sight of Cheer Cheer running at you with arms and legs going everywhere, Cheer Cheer screaming "yeeeaaahhh, c'mon on"...
Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
That would have been Slats. Started the year looking the goods in the 2's, but as the year went on, he couldn't put a score together and found himself falling down the grades until he hit the 4's for the last couple of rounds. He looked magic in the nets...
Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
Yeh knackers I do and bloody proud of it!
I think you might find that there are more players aged under 30 than over 30 in the 1sts at SBCC. This will be even more the case next year as a few guys will be stepping back a bit and letting the younger...
Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
Breuer will be using a green and gold bean bag to keep in this year. Alot easier on the knees that way! There are a couple of up and coming keepers at SBCC that will more than likely be given a crack this season.
Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
Gee, I would love being an up and coming junior at Grovedale and looking to get a game on turf!!! NOT!!! Apart from Peto, the word 'YOUTH' doesn't seem to be in the vocabulary up at the Tigs!
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
Another positive about this and I believe is a massive positive is that each team would have a level playing field in that the wicket would be prepared the same way for both teams. This currently does not happen over a 2 week game.
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 2010/11
I LOVE this idea. It's simple and a lot of players could play longer as the games would be shorter. And makes a hell of a lot of sense. The 85 over games suck. At least the general public would enjoy watching 50 over games each week and not this boring 85...
Re: Geelong Player Movements 2010
Yes, I have heard the same thing. I have also heard that Busch is going with him. Might be the reason why Mills and Jansen have signed with BPH.
Re: 2010/'11 GCA Promotion/Relegation
I understand that last Friday night Geelong City Cricket Club received the phone call they had been dreading for the past few years! They have been relegated to Div 2.
Re: Geelong Cricket Chat 09/10
There might be the little problem of Swannie not playing enough games at SBCC for him to be granted an automatic clearance after all the work i hear SBCC put in to get him and Kelvin last season!
Would this be correct cheer_cheer?
