APS Traditions

I play Sunday cricket and i'm aspiring to break into the ones by next year and was wondering whether the APS has any traditions such as clapping the captain to the crease or having lunch together!

Re: APS Traditions

The APS is full of taditions. Clapping the captain is beginning to come back into the frame thanks to the boys at MGS. MGS hav also introduced the idea that players should be encouraged to mix at lunch, the morale of the teams significantly rises.

Re: APS Traditions

Traditions at Haileybury include but are not limited to;

1. Not selecting the best batsman at the school for the 1sts but rather keep him in the 2nds to encourage growth for the younger players.

2. Play Hard, Train Harder. No talking at Haileybury training sessions produces a game like mentality and we grow as a unit the 6 times a week that we train. (weights on Wednesdays)

3. No watermelon. No watermelon can be consumed on matchdays, even after the match has ended. Nobody knows where this tradition came from, but it is there.

4. Shoelaces must be tied right foot first, left foot second. This is inverted for left footers.

5. A drop catch in the field when the batsman dropped is on 0 means you have to use the "community" box when you bat.

6. Willo makes runs.
