Bat size.

Boogie spinner - does this look an improvement at all? I batted well against my son Joe at the start of the session... just felt a lot more confident - was moving my feet well and hitting the ball cleanly. Slightly harder against the machine as you can't see the bowling action and that split second makes a significant difference.

It does indeed! nice going!

I do think you still have an issue with that left elbow though. This was only something I discovered in the nets last year, and it was a revelation. Try this: imagine that you are starting a lawnmower with your left arm, in a backhand-type way by driving up your left elbow, pulling the cord directly straight up, hard! Now that is the way you want to govern a straight drive. This not only sets the line of the shot but also generates great power. The right arm should really just assist.

Possibly the most beautiful shot in the game too! Here's some straight drive porn for you...

I'm working on it in front of a mirror! I've been looking at Cath Dalton, she has this over-exaggerated follow through, which I think might help with the elbow aspect? I've just watched the Tendulkar video and noticed that when he strikes the ball more often than not the ball is striking the ground almost directly in front of him and yet it still manages to get to the boundary. I'm only facing 58 - 60 mph at the moment, but as I say in the video I don't really know when it's going to be leaving the hand as such, so it seems to me that the fraction of time lost is significant, so I may be able to cope with bowling a little faster from a bowler. But, thanks for the positive feedback.
