Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

The final match of the series is here. Netherlands have already wrapped up first place, and Bermuda have already clinch last place.

Bermuda have lost 6 straight ODI's though, and they'll be wanting to finally put one in the win column. Netherlands are on a good streak right now, and will want to finish this series with a clean sweep.

Netherlands won the toss and will bat first.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Good start for Bermuda, perhaps they can turn things around in the last match.

Both Zuiderent and Szwarczynski have fallen early, leaving Netherlands 25-2 after 6 overs.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Van Bunge out now too, Netherlands 47-3 after 10 overs.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Holy smokes!

Hurdle gets both Ryan ten Doeschate and Tim de Leede with the first 2 balls of the 11th over!
He got them both to edge it to the keeper.

All of a sudden its 47-5 and Bermuda look like they're putting up their best performance of the tournament.

Hurdle has 3 wickets so far and Mukuddem has the other 2.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Borren out now too!

Not to be outdone, Mukuddem picks up his 3rd wicket too.
Bermuda is on fire here!

Netherlands 48-6 after 12 overs.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

And things are actually getting worse for Netherlands.

They're 51-6 after 14.2, but van Troost was hit on the arm by Hurdle's last delivery, and is requiring attention from the trainer right now.

EDIT:
And now van Troost has left the field and is being replaced by Smits.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Mukuddem gets Kervezee, that's his fourth.

Netherlands 65-7

Hurdle finishes his 10 overs at 3-30.
Can't ask for much more than that.
Looks like he got the message from Coach Logie, and is doing his best to earn his way onto the World Cup squad.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Mukuddem finishes his 10 overs at 4-40.
He's probably been Bermuda's top player this series, and today's performance has cemented that, regardless of what he does with the bat later today (if he even gets the chance to bat).

Mukuddem and Hurdle have both used up their 10 overs, so what will Bermuda do with the remaining 30. Okay, well, I suppose they're hoping that it will be over long before another 30 overs can be bowled.

Leverock in to bowl now.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Stefan Kelly comes in and bowls Jonkman to pick up a wicket too. He's a bit of a rarity in the Bermuda side, only 20 years old. Nice chance for him to bowl in a low pressure official international match.

88-8 after 24 overs.

With van Troost hurt, the last man walks in for Netherlands.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Leverock gets the last one,
Hurdle made a diving catch, just to finish what he started,
Netherlands all out, 91-9 (26.4 overs)

Regardless of how difficult a track this is to bat on, Bermuda must take advantage of this low target and convert this start into a win! Things have been bad enough for them lately, but if they were to dramatically fail here, in this certain-victory situation, things could get ten times worse for them.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Bermuda batting after a brief break.

Oh oh!

Ten Doeschate gets Clay Smith lbw in the first over.
Bermuda 1-1 after 1.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Minors gone now too,
Bermuda 13-2 after 6

Their required run rate is only 1.7 runs per over. All they have to do is hang on to their wickets and they'll have this wrapped up.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Outerbridge out, 24-3 after 10.
Looks like Netherlands is going to do their best to keep Bermuda out of the win column.

And now Romaine comes alive, scoring 15 runs off of Ten Doeschate in one over, including 3 boundaries!!

Bermuda now 40-3 after 11 overs.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Oooh, and now Hemp hits three boundaries of his own off of ten Doeschate, they've really turned it on here, scoring 17 from him in the last over.

Bermuda is now 62-3, and they only need another 30 runs to win the match.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Romaine out for 23, but it looks like the damage was done.

Bermuda now 68-4 after 14 overs.
They only need to score 24 runs in the next 36 overs to win.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Now Hemp hits a six! He wants to end this soon!
And he finishes the over off with a four!

Bermuda 80-4, they need 12 more runs.

They may have lost the series, but they're going to pick up a massive win today. Too bad for them they can't get more than one bonus point for a super-huge win.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Bermuda 94-4

That's it, Bermuda win in 17 overs!
Hemp finishes with 36 not out from only 18 balls faced.
Netherlands may have won the series, but Bermuda get a big boost to their morale and their confidence as they head for home.

This was total domination for Bermuda. Their bowlers started out in command, and despite a slightly slow start with the bat, their batsmen eventually unleashed a massive attack.

Looks like Coach Logie needs to threaten his players with being dropped more often.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

Talk about a wake up call! my my my, its amazing what a good threatening would do. Gus Logie gave them a good raking over the coals and yes he even threatened their places.

Having said all that, this win shows that they have what it takes to perform. I would have love to see this display at the very beginning. I just hope in the upcoming WCL in January that they really go all out and show what they are capabale off. Consistency, Consistency, Consistency, that should only be the word in their vocabulary at this stage.

I'm glad that they finally did pull off a win, however it doesn't improve their standings, but nevertheless it was a good win. At least that saves their pride in a sense.

Certainly looking forward to next year, it should be a busy and exciting one.

Re: Bermuda v Netherlands Tri-Series 6th ODI

And Canada thinks back to yesterday, and sighs. 3 dots and we win the series.

Did the Netherlands field their best side, or did they put in some 2nds players? This was just a drubbing, they never had a chance. Good job on Bermuda, though, it could have been very easy for them to not show up for this one. Just shows how close all these countries are to one another.

Looked like most of the usual players were in there for the Netherlands.
