Notice how Victorian domination of T20 in Australia has stopped since the revised BB has forced Victoria to split into two teams?

Please. Don't act like a Hawthorn supporter!

No Hawthorn-esque behaviour here, just celebrating the fact that my team now has back to back premierships. Before now, WA cricket had had a pretty lean run.

I think it has weakened the Victorian sides somewhat. But over the four seasons they've played, both clubs have still been pretty decent for the most part in that time. The Renegades have struggled but did have one good season whilst the Stars have made the semi finals every year and have generally dominated the qualifying games only to fall once the finals begin.

Obviously though neither side has won the premiership or made the final so the dominance that Victoria has had over the T20 format before the BBL format came to fruition has come to an end.

Cricket Australia has announced an eight team Women's Big Bash League will commence from the 2015-16 season. The competition will mirror the current men's set-up with the WBBL having the same franchises as the men's competition with each state association running the franchises in their state.

The move it set to give women's cricket greater exposure at a national but also hopefully an international level in an attempt to make cricket Australia's number one female sport.

A brilliant move by CA. Hopefully this will give women's cricket an even greater boost within the country and further help the sport become fully professional. Further details will be released later in the year but they should definitely be looking to have international players taking part in the tournament and mirroring as much of the men's competition as close as they can.
