Darwin & District Cricket - 2014

First week done, two games cut short due to rain. PINT and Darwin winning on net run rate. Question - how is A grade cricket even allowed to play on MCG2?

Waratahs used their superior skills with Darwin's two greatest local talents (Ebbers and Justin Roberts) to roll Palmo for 50. Pushed local quota up to 2, with a couple of additional short term locals. Wonder when they will be replaced by imports?

Ebbers and Roberts will find themselves in B's this week with the arrival of Richard Lane, Donnovan Deeble (NZ) and Steve Taylor will be back from an interstate trip. Ebbers and Roberts will next make a cameo Round 1 2015 probs.

Rain is still hanging around this week, currently Wednesday and has rained reasonably well for the past couple of days. Could see some below par decks or none at all come Saturday.

Rd 4 Results
Darwin got an outright victory over a very tame Southern Districts (184 in 2 Innings).
Nightcliff knocked off PINT's by 50 odd runs
Tracy Village got a comfortable win over Waratahs 4 down.

With results like this it will be good to see a much tighter competition then expected this year.
RD 5 Fixtures
Pint Vs Waratah (Mararra 2)
Palmerston vs Nightcliff (Woodroffe/Cazalys)
Southern Districts vs Tracy Village (Marrara 1)
Darwin Bye

Quiet in here - the cricket that exciting is it?
Two rounds left:
Darwin, Waratah and PINT make up top 3 as expected.
Districts have snuck into the four just above an imploding Nightcliff (import and discipline issues) - Nightcliff bye this round, SD bye last round, could get tight.
TV went good for a while then fell in a heap. Palmo struggling with numbers and performances.

First week of Finals and it has begun with a shitstorm.
Nightcliff got an outright win over TV to get into the 4 by 0.4 of a point. Then it was found out Districts didn't get a bonus point for the round 11 one day win (against Nightcliff). Districts get the point and into the four - much butthurt from Nightcliff.

Games this weekend are:
Tahs vs Districts
PINT vs Darwin.
Games could either way, the way the season has gone this year.
Interest is in the GF if TAHs get through, they lose players to the national indigenous side that week.

Indigenous squad has 24 blokes in it. Benefical to give everyone a game and have the 2 tahs players sit out that game. Same could be said about PINT and their NT Strike players who could play on the sunday and monday.

NT cricket being a bit or rabble lately. Would like to know who is organising other cricket on a GF weekend.
