Hi Guys,
I just wanted to get the word out regarding the upcoming T20 match between Waurn Ponds and Grovedale. The preliminary match is being played as a tribute match of sorts to David Breen, who was killed in a car crash on July 2nd.
David played with WPCC last season and was a member of the 2nd XI Premiership side. He was a great bloke and made a huge impact on the club in his one season with us.
The match will be also used to promote awareness and to raise money for the Road Trauma Support Services. The TAC have got on board and will be paying for raido advertisements of the event. They are also producing specially designed shirts for the WPCC, similar to that Essendon wore during the AFL season with the seatbelt sash.
There'll be a casual dinner, special guests and a "Stawell Gift" style sprint race during the innings change.
Please let the members of your clubs know this is on so we can help reduce the impact of road trama accross Victoria.
