Dilruwan Perera has been told that he is able to replace Muttiah Muralidaran in the Sri Lankan squad.

Muttiah Muralidaran will miss the tournament due to a bicep injury sustained whilst playing for Lancashire in the English County Championship. He is expected to be out for around four to six weeks

Perera is an uncapped off-spinner who averages 25.88 with the ball in first class competitions and 27.25 in one day games.

Sri Lanka have lost their only bowler who could restrict the batsmen in Twenty20.
