Farewells forever

It is teamorales understanding that in two weeks many big cricket accounts will retire...forever.
My understanding is that the following usernames are hanging up the keyboard:

The straighter one:
A double ton member, will be remembered for loving leg spinners and carey cricket. A true big cricket veteran with hundreds of posts of experience and so much energy in argument. will be sorely missed in the community.

Wiz:
A genuinely consistent performer, providing stability and class in all his posts, coupled with glimmers of flair and realistic notions of Hailebury as a school in general. Big cricket will be poorer for his passing.

Buddylove:
In his 2nd full season as a regular contributor, had the rare ability to combine utter stupid humour with genuine information. A mildly amusing display picture made Buddylove a highly valuable member of the APS forum. Hard to replace.

Fiskem:
Probably the most volatile in his opinions. Never took a backward step, in fact, took too many forward steps. Never short of an insult, but all other members new where they stood. Has faded out in season 08/09 yet was in the bigcricket team of the year in 07/08 and few are as blunt as Fiskem.

Dishies:
A rare contributor however his opinions are highly sort after. Dishies and The straighter1 have an uncanny relationship that has spiralled beyond the realms of the computer screen. Never one for short posts, Dishies has a strong rapore with spin bowlers and his opinions of them are never short of an insult or two. Can be replaced, but will not be forgotten.

Fioradud:
Right from the very first time anybody sees this username, they automatically agree with this man. - Aaron Fiora is a f***ing dud lets be honest. A display picture of an unusual red vest presents Fioradud as a man with pride but not prejudice. Highly opiniated and possibly the biggest joker/lier about team lineups etc on big cricket since 'Chabs4ever' and 'Eric the Eeel' in season 07/08. probably the most likely to continue to post for years to come.

Sharkies:
Rarely seen or heard, a sad career has drifted into the 'Paul Rofe' category of forgotten and never appreciated.

Any others hanging up the keyboard? A tribute to them would be nice.

Re: Farewells forever

Teamorale491 - Definitely the spirtitual leader of the BigCricket brigade. So much wisdom and experience in every word that he types. Over 154 posts and has been a regular contributor over the last few seasons. Has strong opinions yet likes to see both sides of the coin. Reflects upon other peoples views and is definitely not one to talk himself up. Is very humble in his approach to life and this is definitely reflected on BC. Will be sorely missed, a magnificent contributor, one of the best. Thanks for the memories.
You have boosted the team morale +100 over the last few yrs.

As a 2009 retiree slipped under the guard rather often, but i think i speak for all when i say this:

Seriously enjoyed the contribution from the Melbourne Grammar no 1 for many years, always professional about the way he uses his keyboard, wields it with shaun tait like precision. Will always be remembered.

Also while on the topic of appreciations, a certain kind little Black/Brown/Olive tanned man with an unmistakable swagger named Derek has my thoughts and memories for whatever the future holds for the likeable and lovable character we all adore oh so much.

look i could not agree more about derek the lovable man he is with a wooden leg and an inability to change the pace in his stride. his umpiring is terrible, lets be be honest, you don't trust his decision making for even one second, however he is such a nice man, full of conversation and stories about cricket. i will miss him, if not his umpiring.

Re: Farewells forever

thanks for the kind words, its nice to know that there are a few supporters out there. now im just waiting for the slagging to begin... it has been a good three years, in saying that it has been dissapointing with the exceptions named.

For this type of forum to be maintained, it needs similar contributions from semi-intelligent people like team morale, fioradud and the like. Because imagine what it would become if blokes like bill skelton and is mates run the show...

It might be appropriate to say the 'End of APS cricket on Big Cricket'

or am i just jumping to conclusions??
