Gripping a bat

Gripping a bat

I've noticed that I'm having more and more trouble holding a bat, especially with the lower hand.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to things I could try to remedy this. I'm not sure if I have a weak wrist or just need to do something different but it's effecting my batting, in that the bat turns to easily or I find myself unable to push through with the stroke.

A second grip isnt an option as I have small hands.

Have you tried a squash ball in the glove, like Gilchrist at the world cup?

Not sure how effective it'll be but it didn't do him any harm!

how do you hold it? how much gap is there between your hands?

My hands are fairly close together, maybe a few inches. I hold it towards the middle of the handle.

whats more important when holding the bat the top hand or the bottom hand?

I've been told it's the top hand, but I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will tell us!

If i get time later on this evening i'll try my best to show you how I place my hands, it'll be difficult as i'm the only one in the house, if i had a third hand then it'd be better! But i dont, i'll try though.
