Lions adding international players

Sri Lankan cricket star Lasith Malinga and Englishman Monty Panesar will soon play for the Highveld Lions. It has been reliably learned that Panesar has been signed up for the SuperSport Series and Malinga will play in the MTN Series.

Malinga could be a very good acquisition for the One day competition. Monty I sense could use the time to bowl many overs as the Lions do not have a specialist spin bowler in their side as he will be playing in the 4 day competition. The Lions I sense could be trying to buy themselves out of a hole as their president got knocked out by a special meeting over the IPL/ Wanderers debacle.
