Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

A fairly close match, this bodes well for the rest of the series.

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

this should be a really good series, adn the first match shows it. we'll really be able to guage how the 3 measure up to each other, and see what they have to offer for the WC.

will Canada find their ODI form yet?

Considering that Davison, Billcliff, and Barnett are all unavailable for this series, I'm going to vote for "no". They're doing their absolute best not to find their ODI form.

That said, it would be foolish to underestimate them in the World Cup next year. If Barnett and Davison can come through under pressure, they're both capable of producing match-winning performances for Canada.

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

Sounds like it was a good first match. Canada still have not won an ODI in a very long time, but had a good performance here and will be optimistic going into the rest of the series. The Netherlands did very well, with ten Doeschate continuing to play in wonderful form with bat and ball. Really, both teams will be happy with the effort, but only one with the result.

The Dutch get a day off, and Canada goes right back into action against Bermuda tomorrow. They'll be looking to get a better start, in both innings. Umar Bhatti was his usual stingy self, but Henry Osinde was a bit expensive yesterday, and he'll look to remedy that. Similarly, losing two early wickets really put a damper on the run chase.

Too bad the match is played from 3:00 am to 10:45 am Eastern Time - might be the worst time possible for people like me to watch.

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

Just as they were starting to make some runs, Samad is trapped by THE ROCK! Gone for 21 and Canada are 117/3 after 25.4, just off the pace of Bermuda and this match is still very much in play. Looks like a spinners' paradise out there, with the likes of Codrington, Sandher, Leverock and Tucker doing well with the ball.

Canada's big man - George Codrington - is the next man in.

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

135/3 33 overs

out batsmen
AM Samad 21 bowled by Leverock. Don't mess with "the Rock"

With 17 overs to go, Can they do it?

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

After a long spell of ODI losses, I really want Canada to win one, honestly. But Don't let it be against Bermuda :(

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

182/4 after 40 overs

54 runs needed to win in 10 overs

This is shaping up to be another close match.

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

218/4 44 overs
18 runs needed for a win.
This is nerve reckoning

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

Dhaniram and Bagai are batting brilliantly, each with a half-century and currently an 80 run partnership. They need just 11 runs from the last 5 overs to win Canada's first ODI in a LONG time!

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

Not quite yet - Dhaniram got Canada here, but he won't be able to see them over the top, as he edges one back to the keeper. Still a magnificent innings though, 63 off just 42 balls, including 8 fours and a six. Canada 229/5 after 46.

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

Done.

Bagai hits the winning boundary, finishing on 58, and Canada win by 5 wickets. It's been a long time coming, and it took a balanced batting attack to get there without the likes of their captain John Davison. This will be a welcome result as Canada look to build their ODI form moving towards the WCL D1 and the World Cup.

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

Congratulations to Canada on their superb win. They finally stopped the rot, even though at Bermuda's expense, but all the same I very glad for them. They will definitely use this as momentum going forward. Wilbix you must be real Happy!!

winning ball: (47.5 overs) Kelly to Bagai: FOUR! short, pulled away through midwicket, and Canada win by five wickets.

what a beauty!

Too bad for Bermuda, their 4th ODI loss since August. Not looking good at all. Chalk it up to a bad day. They have The Netherlands to play tomorrow, better luck for them in that game.

Re: ODI Tri- Series: Netherlands, Canada, Bermuda Nov 26-30

Another close match, nice to see Canada finally pick up a win.
