It is a worry. Players like Ponting, Warne, McGrath all burst onto the international scene very early in their careers. We're simply not seeing any young tyros that are really demanding selection by their performances. Hughes is the only one so far, as mentioned.
I'm sure we'll have some good players, but it may be more of a late-80s side than anything particularly dominant.
