Had a frosty morning here in ballarat. It is currently 0.8 degrees.

This Cat 3 tropical cyclone is on course to smash into the Qld north coast over the next 48 hours. My SIL
and three of her girlfriends are planning to holiday on Hamilton Island next week. The resort is south
of the big blow's expected path and may avoid its impact... yet again it may not.

Hamilton Island has copped it in the past.

That cyclone sounds frightening mate... is your SIL & her girlfriends going to delay their holiday on Hamilton Island ?
 
We have another cold front forecast for the weekend, our temps have dropped again after a few nice sunny mild days 🥶

It is a wait and see situation Mal. Latest is Hamilton and the other Whitsunday islands may escape the full force of the cyclone as it heads away from the Aussie coast. Probably nothing more than gale force winds and heavy rain mate. Much the same as northern New Zealand as it travels north of your country.

Hope they miss the worst of it Richie... yeah, the top half of the North Island has had a bit mate, there's also a storm coming up from the South Island, Wgtn is meant to get a bit of that over the weekend, hopefully most of it fizzles out by the time it gets to us.
 
A pretty big quake hit NZ this morning & there is also Tsunami warning, so it's a wait & see what happens over the next few hours.

 
Just had an update... thankfully the experts have said most of the threat is over so people are allowed to return to their houses, but have advised them to stay away from the beaches.

Tends to be a lot of look-alikes out there Richie, but still feels a bit strange to see someone that looks very much like someone you know.
 
I meant only the work station Mal. Marc uses three comp monitors for his work much like the person in the clip.
