The Windies also play a tour game against a Cricket Australia XI at Allan Border Field starting on Wednesday and going through to Saturday.

West Indies Squad: Jason Holder*, Kraigg Brathwaite (vc), Devendra Bishoo, Jermaine Blackwood, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Rajendra Chandrika, Shane Dowrich+, Shannon Gabriel, Shai Hope+, Denesh Ramdin+, Kemar Roach, Marlon Samuels, Jerome Taylor, Jomel Warrican

Cricket Australia XI: Jimmy Peirson*+, Tom Andrews, James Bazley, Cameron Boyce, Jake Carder, Josh Inglis+, Ryan Lees, Michael Neser, Matthew Short, Ryan Sidebottom, Jordan Silk, Nick Stevens (one to be omitted)

Australia name their squad tomorrow. Pattinson will play the first test in Hobart but it will be interesting to see who else is drafted into the squad in place of Mitch Starc.

Australia have named their squad. The one real surprise is Nathan Coulter-Nile has been called up despite having not played a first-class game since March. His only long form game for the season so far was a second XI game for WA where he was reported for dissent, suspended and subsequently missed the Sheffield Shield game against Victoria last week.

Scott Boland has also been named and is a standby player at this stage with Siddle complaining of a back spasm in the third test and Hazlewood shouldering a heavy workload in the three tests against New Zealand.

Australia Squad: Steve Smith*, Joe Burns, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Josh Hazlewood, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Peter Nevill+, James Pattinson, Peter Siddle, Adam Voges, David Warner, Scott Boland (standby)

Neser not playing for the CA side with Jerome Taylor rested for this tour match. I hope the West Indies can produce something better in the next two days because so far they've been very disappointing. Six players are making their first-class debut in this game for the CA side which has so far looked a class above the West Indian team.

On the radio they were saying that only 10k tickets had been sold for Hobart as if it was really bad, I'd have thought that is not really that bad given the terrible quality of the opposition.

So an extremely poor performance by the West Indians, beaten by ten wickets by a side who had six first-class debutantes with several others fringe players for their state. Hopefully they put up a much more substantial effort in the first tests next week although things aren't looking too positive at the moment.

Agree - that's a tough show to sell to the people of Hobart!

From memory hardly anyone showed up to Ricky Ponting's last test in Tassie.

CA would have more luck selling ice to the eskimos rather than selling tickets to watch this 3rd rate West Indian team.

give them a chance. we can always bag them out after the first day

Haven't seen a ball live, just following scores online.

West Indies bowled 24 overs in the first session and 26 in the second. Slow over rates wind me up.

Burns, Smith and Warner must be spewing they missed out here?
