I think we're part-timers compared to most people, my kids do Mon-Fri 9.00 - 3.20 in between there's morning break of 20 mins and lunch break of an hour. There's options for extra lesson after school but that's down to the kids to choose.

No other than the meal breaks it's full on lessons. Once they get to their last year at secondary school it might change a bit due to exams having been done and preparing for exams.

I've just been looking for some evidence, but as I recall right about now in your case or perhaps earlier, you have massive growth spurts where you gain height and bulk over very short periods of time. You main bones grow ridiculously fast, but as I recall and I might be wrong, but there's a very small bone in your ear that also has to grow proportionally at the same rate and it doesn't, it grows at a slower rate and this effects your balance during this growth spurt rate. Eventually, the ear bone catches up and starts to work 100% again and you're bowling fine once more. Hopefully someone with more knowledge might put me right on this if I've got it wrong...

This kind of alludes to it... http://www.bbc.co.uk/science/humanbody/body/articles/lifecycle/teenagers/growth.shtml

As I understand it those tiny bones in your ears are extremely fine tuned, so the growth that's happening around them more or less puts the whole ear system (Balancing canals) all out of sync.

Can anyone give me any tips on how to do push ups ? I remember 2 or 3 years ago i could do a lot of push ups without any pain or getting tirés. Partly because i used to do karate and we did a lot of push ups there. But today i could hardly do one.. I did one and it hurt my shoulder and i just couldnt do any more. Maybe im not using a propre technique ? Happy new year

    Happy New Year!!!

if you want to master pressups - indeed one-handed ones - there is an awesome exercise book, "The Naked Warrior" by Pavel Tsatsouline, who was a Russian Special Forces trainer. The whole book is devoted to technique for two exercises, the one-handed press-up and the single leg 'pistol' squat. It is the best exercise program I ever tried - while I was doing it I was getting results at home far better than anything I had ever got at the gym. I recommend it to the forum and my new year's resolution is to get back on these exercises

    Some of his tips
    1) Practise often at high intensity but not to failure
    2) 'screw in' the muscles into your shoulder sockets so as to link your core muscles to your arms
    3) tense all your muscles when doing the press (e.g. especially your glutes!)

Is it possible for the feeling of 'ripping' the ball to become habitual? When I was bowling today I realised that I really didn't feel like I was ripping the ball at all, and I couldn't really spin it any harder when I tried. I'm just wondering if spinning the ball harder is something I'm going to have to work on, or if it is possible that the feeling has just become natural and I don't notice it.

even though i dont rip the ball as much as before now and i will have to practice it again.... You do get used to the rip so what you should do when you get used to it is try to get that feel again so you get double the spin...... Any advice for press ups?

4.49 km in 24 min 51 seconds BEAT THAT! For all the android users i recommend Endomondo, its an app that gives you a lot of stats when your running... Idk if its available in the app store.

This is that whole thing with spinning everything and anything - sitting there in front of the TV and doing it, doing with apples, doing it with oranges, do it all the time. Eventually you'll start to feel what's right. Then when you bowl, you'll feel it as it comes out of the hand, it'll feel right and you'll know it's right and it'll do all the right things. For me, some days it does and other days it doesn't and I don't think it's just down to what happens with the hand - it's a whole body thing.

If you can't do them at all at the moment, maybe start off with core strength exercises like planks? Maybe get them so that you can do 30 seconds of the bog standard version, 15 seconds of side planks each side and then 15 seconds of bog standard ones where you raise your feet. You'll be in a position then where your core strength will be good and you'll be able to maintain a solid core.

Stage 2. Then keeping your core rigid do press ups from your knees as opposed to your toes. You should find these easy to do. Work with these till you can do 30 or 40 maybe? I reckon if you can do 30-40 of those you'll them have the strength to then do a full press-up or two.
