The Dreaded Word Match Fixing Is Back Making Headlines

In 2000 Justice Qayyum made the following recommendations.
Quote:
It was summarised as " For a "home" judge this is pretty stern stuff, and although he finds the team as a whole innocent, this is a qualified judgement. "Various cricket experts like Imran Khan, Javed Miandad have stated that for a match to be fixed at least 5-7 players ought to be bought. As seen above, this commission could not find conclusive evidence against as many players, thus on the whole the team

Smith Calls Time On T20 Captaincy

Posted 22 Aug 2010 at 05:32 by hattrick

The past week Graeme Smith announced that he is vacating the T20 captaincy and will only captain the ODI side until the Cricket World Cup. The timing of the decision is interesting as it seems that neither Corrie van Zyl nor the sponsors were aware of this. Amla Dominate CSA Awards

Posted 21 Jul 2010 at 13:21 by hattrick

Hashim Amla last night got recognition for an astonishing season. Winning a handful of awards was the reward for someone who was not good enough a few years ago. Amlas is a humble young South African that has fought back after having a dodgy technique at the crease.

Quote:
He received five awards in total - the SA Cricketer of the Year, Test Cricketer of the Year, SA Players' Player of the Year, CSA Fans' Cricketer of the Year and the KFC "So Good!" Award.
I will admit I was a...
