The naps players mate were Chris Banwell, Dan Scott, Luke Corden and Peter Guy. Pete was called in cos moorey couldn't be arsed driving up the highway sunday morning and was a late inclusion. Scotty made some big hundreds late last year and has a couple of good 50s to his name, Cordo has bowled well and has a couple scores and a proven record in rep games, Banners has been in reasonable touch this year. Despite what peoples opinions are at the end of the day you have to be willing to put on the cap. I do think that there were a couple of inclusions that surprised but such is life, you play with those you're with and with those who want to play!

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association
Here are a few things you've stated sleeper...
"There is a squad of 25 or so that are playing over the kenmac games"
"Pete was called in"
"I do think that there were a couple of inclusions that surprised but such is life, you play with those you're with and with those who want to play!"
..... SO, over a squad of 25, all of whom had notice (again, your words), with those presumably on standby for a no-show, not one of the 14 who didnt get a game were available to play on the day or wanted to play on the day?? Hence the involvement of some ******* who cant even get a regular cap in his clubs first XI. Or am i completely mistaken and pete guy was included in the squad of 25?? If this is the case it is F**KING LAUGHABLE.... What is the qualification for the 'squad' these days? Being one of hammers long lost loves? I notcie some very high scores being made in the 3's and 4's surely these players could be drafted into the squad for a trial or 'to see if they gel'.... Give me a f**king break!!
Another BCA disgrace.... And you trying to justify it is only making things sillier....

I have heard that 3 Under 21 players needed to be selected. Would this be correct?
If this is the case, we need to remember that 12 Under 21 players were also playing in Bendigo on the same day.
I also find it weak as piss that people hiding behind these names are bagging people who are half there age without being able to own up to who they are. All the Under 21 players who played for Ballarat Sunday are great blokes. It's Ballarat cricket for **** sake. They are obviously going to improve by playing such cricket and good luck to them.

Just breathe mate, it is just ballarat cricket. We're out there having a crack, we have nothing to do with selection, we get the letter, we turn up, we train, we play. When you're told you're not playing one would tend to go off and make plans, so if someone does pull out at the last minute it would make it difficult to ring in someone at short notice. Whether that was the right choice or not is each persons own opinion. Personally, I love playing for the Rat, other people don't. Each to their own.

You're absolutely right swardsy. That does show poor planning on behalf of the BCA but such is the schedule. That meant that arguably the best 12 under 21's were automatically out of contention, then it is a condition of the Kenmac that 3 u/21s be played.
Therefore to look at it in the bleakest view you would say that in the Kenmac the side was playing its 13th, 14th and 15th best u/21 players. Are there even 15 u/21 players in the a-grade?

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association
Draff will be the first to admit that he played by default. As mentioned, when you take the top 12 U/21s out, some somewhat 'dodgy' choices are going to be made if you have to pick 3 U/21s.
Out of the U/21s, having watched all 3 games this year I'd strongly suggest that S Miller would be a certainty to come in, and the other 2 mandatory U/21s would likely come from the 12 that played sunday also - possibly J Knowles (got another freak run out - direct hit from the boundary) and 1 other.
Dan Wright has got to be stiff - 2 tons from 4 hits makes him the in-form opener I would've thought. You never know what goes on with work - I'd suggest that Yates and Irving would be picked if available and/or if they wanted to play.
Trower made 1100 runs last english summer, so the guy can bat - just needs to adjust to our wickets. Winnard has all the talent in the world but can't put it together on the park just yet.

Ohhhhh piss off. let's get fair dinkum here. there should be no north player in any bca combined side at the moment. they are not far in front of coronet at the moment but at least those clowns have burns despite the fact they will be in division one next year. what will it be after this round? 12 games in a row without a win? or is it more? trower may take a while to get used to decks like the carpet on sebas no. 2 or the east high road, will he? come on! and if winnard hasn't put it together on the park yet then why is he being picked in a kenmac side?
