Word on the street is he is good mates with Sproules. Might see him at naps in the next few weeks, maybe David will give him the whipper snipper he has always wanted.

Judging by the state of Sherrard it would appear the whipper snipper is idol - either that or there isn't a long enough extention chord.

Now listen here Pots, fair to say the boy appreciated what he got, so don't think for a minute it wasn't. Obviously deadset struggling with the concept of not playing so I hope you crumbs are getting behind the big fella, been a pretty shite couple of years for a great bloke.

By the way, what's this rumour, one G, orge be pulling on the whites this week.

Now that I'm on here may as well make some selections and comments cricket related. Obvious cut and past from the website,

FIRST XI

One day matches on Saturday 20 December 2008 – 12.30 p.m. start

Mt. Clear v Darley at University of Ballarat (Gary Lofts, Greg Shephard) - Darley will win, rate their attack, jury out out on Mt Clear

Golden Point v Wendouree at Eastern Oval (Aaron Fowkes, Des Lloyd) - Wendouree should be too good. Great batting line up, just too good in the Twenty 20

East Ballarat v Napoleons/Sebastopol at East Secondary College (Stephen Bathurst, Peter Mackay) - For obvious reasons, just reckon the Dog and Potts might fail agaisnt Thommo in form - Bathurst? Not sure of him as an ump, but reckon he'll add value to the game and make the right decision against the Dog

Coronet City v Ballarat/Redan at Ballarat Grammar (2) (Murray Bayly, Ron Bedford) - You'd reckon Redan, but wouldn't be surprised to see Coronet in a one dayer, would love to see Burnsy do well

North Ballarat v Brown Hill at St. Patrick’s College (2) (Lloyd Brookes, Malcolm Rock) - Without knowing selections, based on Hoppy playing, best bowler in the comp and very handy one day bat

Thats my 2 cents, I'm sure there'll be some disagreement, am suprised to see Wakka getting invloved early days in the Christmas spirit with the christmas lights, probably not a Courier chance, but definitely fineable at Redan if that goes on there.

By the way Thick Edge, thanks for reminding me, this Sunday we honour one of Naps finest, so all who would like to come along and remember a great man in Ballarat cricket get along to Napoleons, should be a great day, all are welcome to attend and remember a great icon of our local game - some may not have known him from outside the club, which I'd be surprised by, but the people who knew him, knew what he was all about, we sorely miss him and look forward to honouring the great man this week.

Merry Christmas lads,

very interesting results on the weekend and the 5 rounds in the new year will be crucial for all sides. Has there been such an even competition before with 5 or 6 sides all capable of making finals.

Good luck in the barossa thickedge.

just wondering what your thoughts are on the country week squad this year boys.. in my opinion there are a few guys that could consider themselves stiffer than a honeymooners snag.. not knowing the availability of some guys its hard to know but d.wright from east should be opening the batting 4 sure..and was available..can anybody shed some light on this matter.. there is no way an overseas player should play 4 ballarat in my opinion. he is not going to appreciate the cap like a local lad..he must play 4 nth.ballarat...theres still a naps flavour in the squad also.. thommo would be first picked in my team but i didnt understand banners selection..going down as a 2nd keeper doesnt make any sense to me..will he play as a batsmen anyway or just there to give pikey a spell if needed..if hes there to relieve pikey then wouldnt you pick a specialist keeper??nothing against banners, good bloke.. but there are better keepers and batsmen out there if you ask me..i always thought you had to earn your spot in the ballarat team, it seems there giving the caps away this year..maybe im 2 old school but ask jeffo and a few of the older guys and they will agree im sure..anyway, good luck to the guys going down this year..
