tend to agree with you irv on the pommy. not sure how playing him improves the bca? alls that does in my opinion is say to the other associations, hey look, we have the really good import playing in our comp! i have nothing against north having him play for them at all, but i reckon those representing us should be from here.
hard to make comment on who else should be in the squad coz only the selectors know who is available. im guessing blokes like yater & johnson were not available, coz they would have to be picked.

Trower made a ton again today I hear. Has to be picked. They are there to win Country Week so I think you have to pick the best side you can. Wrighty may be stiff but Jon seems to be a bloody good player and deserves his spot. From my point of view Josh White and Brad Palmer should be there too BUT Trower has performed and plays in the BCA so should be more than eligible. Runs talk...bullshit walks.

I am with SteveO on this. The guy is a very good player and a good bloke as well. Was lucky at times against us yesterday and we dropped him on 80 but is all class and built a very good innings.
He plays in the association so should be able to represent the BCA.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association
Wow some big upsets this week. Darley get done on their home turf against North and the Hill knocking off East. Two teams well in the mix still on holidays it seems. With the calf injury the big question now is can Darley win without Steenholdt??? Two times he hasnt batted the batting has crumbled. And it also leaves a spot open for Country week. thoughts?

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association
Couple of massive upsets, very tight on the ladder between 2nd and 7th with only 2 wins seperating them. I'm sure the selectors will find someone to take his spot, i hear a few of the two's players are putting their hands up to play so i'm guessing they'll be selected before a few of the standout performers this season... Not sure how a bloke who had only made 93 runs for the season before this round can be picked. and a bloke who has played one game for the season, has been injured ever since... Not sure who will replace Steeny but surely it has to be a top order bat????

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association
Well its getting to that time of year again and im sitting at work on my computer, so i thought i would have a look at the what i thought would happen this year. Very close again and up to 7 teams are in the mix. This game could drop a couple off the pace though.
This is the teams who are in the mix's run home:
1. Wendouree:North, B/redan, Point, East
2. Mount Clear: Coronet, Naps, Darley, Point.
3. Golden Point: East, Coronet, Wendouree, Mountie.
4. Naps Sebas:B/Redan, Mountie, East, Hill.
5. East: Point, Hill, Naps, Wendouree.
6. Darley: Hill, North, Mountie, B/Redan
7. Hill: Darley, East, North, Naps.
My thoughts on End of year ladder:
1. Wendouree
2. Naps Sebas
3. Mount Clear
4. East
5. Darley (to miss out on %. Would of made it with Steenholdt fit. Easy run)
6. Point
7. Hill (If can get over Darley this week are a big chance to go higher)
the rest
Thoughts?

2 dead set semi finals this round. east v point & darley v hill. depending on other results, the losers of those 2 games may find it hard to make finals.
also fantastic to see the likes of hill & north winning last round, adding some more depth to the competition. the comp needs as many sides as possible remaining strong so that interest in the comp remains. having half the sides strong enough to play finals & the other half not isnt good.
before xmas no-one would have given north any chance against wend, but now after such a good win, they would have to give themselves a chance, & thats fantastic.

Re: Ballarat Cricket Association
Is the lad Trower really that good - heard he often has rushes of blood and gets bored easy at the crease?

He has been one of the luckiest blokes at the crease - we conservatively put it at 8 times he has been dropped in his 6 innings to date. If teams want to keep giving him lives, then so be it - all he can do is keep batting after that. And he is leading the league aggregate from the least number of hits.
