Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat
It's is tons of fun. I've been around since season 1 and was hooked right away. I didn't know much about cricket when I started either. I'm glad it isn't blocked at work, gives me something to follow during the day
Got a tricky ODer tomorrow. We are pretty evenly matched and he just played a bot in his FC match, so he rested most of his good guys.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat
Ballhitter -
First thing you will need to look at is buying trainees. This will be what makes your club better in the long term. In the first season it is going to be about building a core to your team.
Trainees
First thing to remember is that you only have a limited amount of money, and money will be very scarce in your first season, so we will need to buy cheap trainees (less than $20K, hopefully more like $5-10K).
I would suggest looking at getting 3 batting trainees.
You need to look at guys 17-19yrs olds with feeble + stamina as we will not train that on batting trainees.
Medicore/Competent Batting and woeful+ concentration is recommended.
I would put each of these trainees on 1 batting net. This should hopefully allow you to have possibly 3 respectable batsmen by the end of the season. Guys that will around your team for a while.
As for bowlers, these guys need higher stamina, but that costs a lot more money, so we have to use our nets a bit more wisely. We will be looking once again to pick up 3 trainees to build our core team.
Once again we are looking at Medicore/Competent Bowling and woeful+ consistency.
Try and buy 3 different types of bowlers to give your bowling attack some variation and be able to take advantage of all types of pitches. I would suggest looking for 2 Fast, Fast Medium or Medium bowler and 1 spinner.
Try and get at least one of the trainees with competent stamina as we will not have enough nets to train stamina properly for all your trainees, but stamina is more important for bowlers than it is for batsmen as they always have to bowl their 10 overs.
Your nets should be bought like this. 2 stamina, 2 fielding, 3 bowling.
You can rotate the 2 stamina and 2 fielding nets between these 3 players so they all improve at a similar rate (though focus on getting the lowest stamina players up to the same level as the others first).
This means that all 10 net sessions you have are now occupied. At this point all you can do is wait till the end of season and then revaulate the training program then.
Staff
As far as staff goes, if you follow the stratergy above these are the staff numbers you shoud be employing.
3 Batting Coaches
3 Bowling Coaches
2 Stamina Coaches
2 Fielding Coaches
As well you will need to employee some other staff members to help with training of secondaries and increasing sponorship monies.
I would employee to start with...
4 or 5 Sports Pysc's - These help increase the secondaries (concentration/consistency) of players.
3 PR officers - These will help increase the sponsorship money you get each week.
As far as staff goes these are all we will employee at the start.
]Stadium
When you get your stadium, it is unfortuantely not in the correct configuration to maximise your income. To fix this a small upgrade is need almost immediately (well straight after buying your trainees)
These is the what I suggest you upgrade to almost immediately. You won't have much money to go any higher intially, and if you are filling in constantly, you can always upgrade it again (look under battrick resources section of this site for the stadium calculator)
Standing room: 0
Uncovered seating: 1,400
Covered seating: 770
Members seats: 180
Total: 2,350
The total cost of the upgrade will be £96,100.00 and the maintenance cost will be £10,724.00 per week.
You will also make a total of £51,450.00 when your stadium is full, as opposed to the £28,750.00 you would currently make.
Youth Squad
As far as the youth squad goes, I would suggest you not invest in this for the first season at all. It is better to save your money and buy the players/trainees you want than invest in the Youth squad lottery.
By the second season I would suggest you start investing as much as you can afford (which means whatever doesn't put you at a loss each week), so that by the 3rd season you can start pulling youths out of your squad. You will need about $240K to upgrade your youth squad to superb, and their are no guarentees you will get someone good, so do think long and hard before deciding to jump in early and invest.

Re: Battrick - Season 11 Chat
Bear in mind that the above has changed slightly. Stadiums are now in correct proportions, or at least better than before, so I'd leave that for now.
As for squad, you should have 2 or 3 potentially trainable players (17 year olds). In your case Clarke, Newton and Tunnicliffe. However, spend a little bit of time on the transfer market and you may pick up some 17 year players with comp/comp/comp.
I'll explain in more detail when I have a bit more time.
