BTW I am seeing so many places talking about the EA Sports Cricket 08 being released and fortunately got to see the game at one of my friend's home but this does not look to me as a creation of EA but someone has worked with those files and has managed to make a newer detailed game. Is it more interesting than its predecessor! Any comments!

RPIC is not coming out in 2008. There was supposed to be a 2009 version but it might be delayed due to the cancellation of the Champions Trophy this year.

There's been unofficial news from a very reliable source, in my ears, that there are no versions for 2008, and 2009 versions planned from both stables around May - June next year.

that's what i heard as well... ea would release rugby and cricket in alternating years.

ie. rugby 08, cricket 09, rugby 10, cricket 11, rugby 12.

i'd imagine rugby 12 will be released in 2011 anyway because of the world cup, as was done with rugby 08

Either ways, I'm not too excited about any upcoming cricket games sadly. Cricket games have ALWAYS been given the lowest priority even though they can have the most amount of detail.

i know this thread is a little dead,
but it wouldnt be bad to get a new cricket game soon for the new ashes? cricket 09 or something.
and it would be good to have pre game pitch reports and stuff, and more realistic pitches. like if you hit a crack it really takes off, im sure the new gen games can manage that.
anyway hopefully we see a new cricket game this year

EA has always counted on the ashes, so I would think there'll be another this year.

Whether it will be based on a new engine or the same, crap old one, we don't know.
