hold on a second... yes i was there all day.... and marshall choked big time.. but fought bakk well and got the reverse outright comfortably.... but stilll.......ordinary deck.... how many better decks are u blokes gunna play on this year.. our boys busted our asses to get that deck that good for u blokes.. and u turn around and call it ordinary... geez you must be playing on an mcg kind of deck every week if thats the case

Just goes to show what can happen when a young bloke, who is in form, is nominated by his club to attend the trial, works hard and performs on the day. If other, perhaps better players were prepared to have their name put forward and attend the day, then maybe then the so-called better players would get in. If you think it is a joke that he gets in and has a crack and other 'better' players are sitting on their arses at home or doing whatever and couldn't be bothered drining the kms to trial then you are a little bit misguided. Country Week obviously suffers from the same problem.

PS. Illingworth was named as a fast bowler. Any other GCA fast bowlers who could feel aggrieved at the decision could possibly contact the VCCL?

Bends his back very well, i would think one of the quickest in Div 2 but also does a lot with the ball and is a consistent wicket taker. Importantly, can also bat and that's what they would be looking at.
