chester- got him out, duck mind you. smashed them in juniors last yr but hasnt gone on. sam said he bowled well so theres something positive. big mouth though.. i no a few north boys who would like to stitch him up

shiell- loved the bloke, took no offence to my light hearted banter. solid defence for a number 10, but no real aggressive shots.

as far as them staying at newcomb, id say theyd prefer to play the higher standard, if both in same divi theyd prob go back st albans as they only left to play a higher standard
Its not all about u ants... but still u did get him out and that was the best wicket of the day... nothing better than seeing that bloke sulk off the ground after failing with the bat

big mouth... all talk.. very little action.. thats all u ever get with chester

just spoke to a highton mate who played in the game. Manifold bloke definetely obstructed by sticking arm out, umpire panicked called dead ball which he shouldnt have, then gave manifold bloke out for obstruction. GCA have said they will stick by umpires decision and highton have been given 6 points. umpire didnt feel safe going into rooms with manifold after game, cant have helped their cause.

95% of umpires in Geelong bring it on themselves they don't know the rules and most havn't played a game and don't know how to control a situation, the Umpires association should be retesting umpires at the start of every season to make sure they know all the rules.

Most of them only do it to make an easy $100 or so for half a Saturday, it's a shame we don't have more of them so when they mess up like in this case they can be dropped down a couple of grade/divisions.

The only decent umpires are the ones that have played the game before and know what LBW means, how many times is the full toss on the ankle in front of middle "going down leg" and then the big stride down the wicket that hits the knee roll get given out?

I think ex players should be encouraged more to take it up, I don't know how but there must be some way.

Ha ha Sunday cricket is painful, especially when it's the last day of your holidays. Back to running PVC pipe for you mate. At least it's better than the heavy shit we use.
