India's Squad for the ODI

India Squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (capt & wk), Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh, Rohit Sharma, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel, Ishant Sharma, Pragyan Ojha, RP Singh, Virat Kohli, M Vijay

No Tendulkar as he requested being rested due to the heavy workload.

Yusuf Pathan makes his return to the ODI squad as Praveen Kumar, Parthiv Patel and Irfan Pathan are the absentees from the team that played in the last ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Vijay also gets a run after debuting in the last test match for India against the Aussies

The English squad that is touring is:

Pieterson (C), Flintoff, Anderson, Bell, Bopara, Broad, Collingwood, Cook, Harmison, Patel, Prior, Shah, Sidebottom, Swann and Wright.

The campaign began with the English easily accounting for a Mumbai eleven, Flintoff hitting 100* off 84 balls, Shah 83. Wicket takers included Anderson who took 3-15

Good start to their tour but I feel that India will be too strong espcially coming off their series win against us Aussies.

England went down by 124 runs in their latest warm-up game. I think that's all that really needs to be said.

No shame in being destroyed by cricketing dynamos like K Waingankar and RG Shaik, who share 1 first-class game between them.

Waiting for the obligatory Peter Moores "The lads are disappointed but there are lots of positives" sound bite. England, don't ever change

It'll come good, can see them losing the test series 1-0, I don't really care that much about the ODI's (of which 7 is far too many).

Not sure on the finer points of it, but basically the BCCI get more money from playing more ODO's and less tests

It was a deal between the BCCI and ECB. Basically, BCCI make more cash from the shorter forms of the game and the ECB wanted the players home in time for Xmas.

I'm sure that there was some kind of deal brokered during the series in England as well, so that there were more tests in England.
