They lost 4-0 and were whipped in ODIs by England. You should slaughter them.

Australia should win this with ease.

Remember they are at home where they are basically invincable.

Also SA are not that good a team. Steyn is a bullier of weak teams. Ntini is a shadow of himself. Morkal is a poor mans Harmison....ie may one day be good. Harris is really poor and will only get wickets if players underestimate him (eg like Bell and KP did).

Their batting is based around Amla (Nuff said). Kallis looked horrible against England. It could be one poor series but he really looked like he had totally lost it. Swing it into Smith and he will be gone. Prince is ok but nothing special.

A really, really bizarre tour game. South Africa played Western Australia in a one-dayer today at the WACA Ground. The Proteas insisted that both sides wear whites and play with a red ball and then proceeded to play test cricket, scoring 2/185 from their 50 overs. Hashim Amla scored a century in reasonably quick time but Jacques Kallis was more than happy to block for the majority of the innings and made 52 not out from 116 balls faced, only two less than Amla.

Steve Magoffin and Brett Dorey took the wickets for WA is what was a rather boring innings.

In reply, WA started off even worse, making only 17 from the first ten overs. As a result, Lonwabo Tsotsobe bowled six maidens in his ten overs, taking 1/12 in the process. Makhaya Ntini also bowled tidily, 0/30 from his ten including three maidens.

However, that was the end of the slow-going for WA as they picked up the pace after the first ten overs. With Ntini and Tsotsobe out of the attack, the Warriors' top order attacked the first change and part-time bowlers, scoring runs at will. Morne Morkel though, tripped at the crease delivering his first ball for the match and is very much in doubt for the first test against Australia next week with a badly injured ankle.

All the WA batters got starts, Shaun Marsh scored 26, Liam Davis 27 with David Bandy making 53 not out but Adam Voges starred, scoring 87 at better than a run a ball and doing his Australian selection chances no harm. The Warriors reached the total with more than three overs remaining, winning by six wickets however the game will keep going as South Africa want both teams to bat 50 overs regardless of the scoreline.

Tour Match - Western Australia vs South Africans at WACA Ground

South Africans Innings 2/185 (50 overs)

Hashim Amla 105* (118)
Jacques Kallis 52* (116)

Steve Magoffin 1/40 (10)
Brett Dorey 1/42 (11)

Western Australia Innings 4/215 (50 overs)

Adam Voges 87 (78)
David Bandy 53* (77)
Liam Davis 27 (56)
Shaun Marsh 26 (63)

Lonwabo Tsotsobe 1/12 (10)
Jean-Paul Duminy 1/44 (7)
Monde Zondeki 1/46 (9)
Robin Peterson 1/73 (10)

Bizarre. Surely they could have scheduled a 2 or 3 day game instead.

bizzarre game of cricket.... did they pay the crowd to turn up?

Why not have a three day game and bowl for a whole day, thus allowing all the bowlers a good chance to roll their arms over a couple of times and at least all the batsman get a good hit....

Two-day game starts tomorrow. They should have either played a three-day match or treated today's game like a proper List A fixture, none of the this half-and-half attitude.

They definitely should have played a 3 day game. Oh well, it's their loss.
