Shane Watson is over weight and always has been. His body would be under too much stress from all the kilograms he is carrying. He needs to slim down if he want's to keep playing cricket.

His challenge is a lot of his weight is muscle but he needs to loose it to survive as an athlete. Most athletes of any sport that have long careers have lean light bodies, especially pace bowlers.

He was one of our best bowlers in india because we had duds playing like brett lee and cameron white and didn't play good bowlers like Bollinger, Siddle and Krajzer.

I would hardly call Brett Lee a dud, he has taken over 300 test wickets? You are a fool if you think he is a dud.

And I read somewhere that in order to prolong his career Shane Watson had stopped weights training and instead took up swimming and such in order to lose a bit of the muscle he has.

That's good news that Watson is looking to lose some weight, it'll do him the world of good.
You are right, Brett Lee isn't a dud but he is a long way past his best and is no longer up to international standard. He was good when he bowled 150/155KM +, but he's lost a lot of his pace and doesn't have the height to gain extra bounce and achieve good seam movement. Siddle is a better option than him, as are Johnson, bollinger and maby Hilfenhaus.
If Lee was tall and could seam and swing the ball both ways he'd be a good player at his pace but he doesn't. He bowls straight with no bounce and a good pace to hit. He also doesn't have a very good cricket brain which is evident of his lack of variation and inability to figure out batsmen and get inside their heads.

Lee is no longer effective as he can not bowl 150 km/h anymore and I haven't seen him swing the ball in a long time.

Ii is starting to look like a similar decline to Gillespie who could bowl 145 km/h and swing and cut the ball later on he lost pace and could no longer move the ball and batsman found him quite easy to face and eventually he was no longer up to test standard.

Yeah it is sad to see a player playing top level who is gone and shouldn't be there like Lee and Hayden.

It was great seeing Tate bowl 155km/h in the 20/Twenty last night. Shows what an extra 10km/hr can do. It's a pity Tate can't get more consistancy with his pace and accuracy.

It's a pity he didn't feel the need to bowl that fast in the KFC Big Bash, maybe we would have won a few more games

Yeah but he only got his wickets because the top order players were concerned of his pace. Once Duminy got out their he played Tait the best espeecially that aweswome six he hit over Ronchi.
