That's good news that Watson is looking to lose some weight, it'll do him the world of good.
You are right, Brett Lee isn't a dud but he is a long way past his best and is no longer up to international standard. He was good when he bowled 150/155KM +, but he's lost a lot of his pace and doesn't have the height to gain extra bounce and achieve good seam movement. Siddle is a better option than him, as are Johnson, bollinger and maby Hilfenhaus.
If Lee was tall and could seam and swing the ball both ways he'd be a good player at his pace but he doesn't. He bowls straight with no bounce and a good pace to hit. He also doesn't have a very good cricket brain which is evident of his lack of variation and inability to figure out batsmen and get inside their heads.
