Frodo27 will become famous soon enough
Default Resignation

To my beloved Kings, I thank you for playing your guts out, and I am honoured to have played with you.

Those that know me from BFFCL know that I have strict ethics.

Tonight, we saw a single Grand Final, played after a best of three semi final.

I'm sorry, but this is 'rules on the run', and something that is unfair and I can't be part of.

If it stands, I quit as Kings captain. I bequeath it to hougie.

Jeez it was decided before the match, funny how everyone at the Magic knew. I thought given it was your only finals match you would have been well aware of what was happening. Take the defeat.

Yeah. It was decided in another thread. I suggested it and I think everyone agreed with me that the GF should be a single match only while the Semi (or Elimination) final should be best of 3

Yeah, isn't all the Champions league stuff home and return legs except for the Final?

Unfair? Not sure how, you would have selected the same side either way. I must admit i didn't post the fact that it would be a one off grand final in the appropriate spot but it didn't affect the outcome of the match.

Rules on the run? You had no problem with us making it a best of 3 semi final series in the first place which was done "on the run".

The reason it was changed from 3 games to 1? It made more sense for the Grand Final to be a one off event and you said it your self:

The best of 3 one dayers was wrong IMHO
It was changed to make the competition better. No one was advantaged or disadvantaged by it.

I'd love you to keep playing in the competition but i won't be changing a decision just to make you happy.

The ball's in your caught. How you play it is up to you.

Yep. After the group stage, the games are two legged ties, then the final is a one off game.

Even in the English league cup, it's knock out until the semi final, which is a two-legged tie again and then final is back to a one off game.

For the record, I had no idea it was a one game final. I assumed it would be best of three as was the elimination final.
Nothing should be done on the run without full discussion and agreement.

The comp needs you - just like the Dirk/Jeremias situation a couple of days ago.

Maybe the 'rules on the run' could be considered a blunder, but look at the rest of the comp (e.g. BigFooty Medal thread) and you can see the comp admin are more than capable - they're really quite outstanding.

You do have strict morals, but in this situation to condemn an extremely well-run and efficient competition on the premise of one mistake may be going a little too far.

Also, a little heads up with that last bit would've been nice.

Yep, you're right and i'm sorry for that.

It's the first year of the competition and the first year i've been admin.

One honest mistake shouldn't result in players resigning and what not.
