Re: Haddin - do you rate him as a keeper?
Haddin's keeping was poor when he first arrived on the Test scene. However, he is actually a very good gloveman usually, and he showed signs in the last two series that he was getting back towards his best. I would say it was very much a confidence issue, as his glovework has always been one of his genuine strengths.
As for his batting, after that breakthrough 160 odd, he is now strutting around the crease and looking like a genuinely terrific batsman. He's hitting it off the middle, he's willing to play square of the pitch when necessary (something he was reluctant to do in his first few innings, leading to him being tied down and resorting to stupid shots), while still utilising his primary batting strength, straight down the pitch, to get most of his runs.
He's no Gilly, but he's the best keeper in the country. He just took a few Tests to get going is all.
