Mash Shield 2017/18

Anyways, now that I’ve out of self imposed exile I should do the community thing and add the odd comment at my new home for the season. I’m not going to disrespect people or other clubs like some of my friends in the other forums may, because in the 3 games so far I’ve found, it doesn’t matter what level you play at there are people who are passionate, work bloody hard and love their cricket communities and should be admired just as much if not more. Whittlesea are one of those clubs. It was a pleasure watching last week, having a chat to some of their guys and having a great appreciation for the work their President John does to keep the place ticking over. Certainly not something to look down upon, but a great example of what community sport and clubs are about and how tough it can be. Sometimes success is about just being.

Warwick Todd just noticed another hero on the weekend. Laurimar batsman Ashley Williams smashed around some E Grade hacks making 75 with 7 sixes. Laurimar made 5/153 off 16 overs. Not hard when you where once the Adelaide District Cricket one day player of the year.

Played at Mernda when they won the Money Shield GF in 14/15. Smashed 150 against Lower Plenty that year. Played Barclay the following year.

Good batsmen, who probably wasn't available both weeks. Standard for us lower grade hacks who come up against these flat track bullies.

They were playing Riverside, who appear to be struggling in their lower grades.

Pretty sure... don’t quote me but think he didn’t play last week and isn’t playing next week.. soo what people do give up cricket so they don’t play pea hearts lol

Good chat

At the half way mark, it's looks like it's down to 5 to make finals. Panton Hill losing to Thommo United was a shock, import from Hurstbridge seems to be winning the games for them, Laurimar starting to improve. Surely Panton Hill win it this year and finally test themselves in a higher grade.

The problem is even if they win, I don't think they have enough reserves to maintain it in MS. Panton Hill and Laurimar have their 2s in E grade and Hurstbridges 2's will be there next season. Frankly I think only Research EC have any chance of winning it AND saying up.

Only reasonable explanation could be to tell that club his leaving or to pick something up,
Just enough time for the last rats to exit the sinking ship ?

You're a very clever cookie, he was picking up his kit.

Rav spoke to us a month ago about how he wasn't interested in cricket anymore, didn't want to train and that he'd miss a number of games.
Good on TU for getting him back, he's a great bloke. In Bubis we trust.
