Special mention to that ‘Kearney’ knob from Epping who was pretty quick to get on social media and down play the early season win against RECCC by saying “it was only against Research”. Hope your beers tasted like warm cats piss after the game today!🤣
Not at the moment but there are a few clubs I’ve heard of that are struggling numbers wise who will be having some preemptive discussions about their futures.
Just reading these posts and it highlights to me that cricket at a local level needs a drastic re think.
We (Research Eltham) had 25+ unavailable for 2 day sides because of a weddings and bucks turns that take players away for 1 week. There hasn’t been a game occurring without a similar issue...
You’d like to think that if the comp is forking out 10’s of 1000’s for admin assistance, then it would happen pretty quickly.
Doesn’t help club when you are trying to plan match day events and social calendars with no knowledge of what dates you can work with!
Obviously the AGM has been had with some quality new appointments. One thing I heard from a pretty reliable source is they haven’t been able to find anyone to do the fixtures. As a result, and I hope this isn’t true but allegedly they have had to outsource it to Cricket Victoria at a cost of 80k...
If we still have the spare day on Monday (public holiday), then a full or partial heat out shouldn’t matter. If not, then I’d imagine side batting first would do so under same rules as home and away.
If side batting first is lower ranked, then they’d need to give higher ranked side same amount...
Nothing is on toast when defending the boundaries at Research. 175 was a good score after a couple of hiccups early, but 200 plus was needed.
Bowled pretty well but in “my opinion”, should’ve brought the spinner on from start or much earlier than 18th over to take pace off ball for Fisher, who...
Don’t know if this is the right place to mention this, and I haven’t heard anything in DVCA socials but Graeme Pavey is representing Australia in the over 60’s World Cup in India v England tomorrow. Worth a shout out and congratulations🤙
I think the issue is ‘smart’ batsmen and batting. Bowling is mostly pedestrian that preys on the ability of batters to be patient, seize momentum and build an innings.
9 out of 10 if not 10/10 batsmen these days get themselves out via impatience and poor shot selection, not good deliveries...
As we all have in life mate. Myself Bricko and his dad all had a good laugh on Thursday night, especially with your post instigating an instantaneous call from Epping CC.🤣🤙
