I agree there’s a lot of other choices for young people when it comes to Saturday entertainment I think cricket is going okay..
A quick scroll through MyCricket shows that between SECA and CSB just over 190 teams played Saturday cricket and 160 junior teams..
How brilliant it would be if it...
How did that go from a ordinary clubs poor finals performance to climate change and the extinction of the game.. wow R.I.P. cricket and mankind. (Sorry womankind aswell) gotta be equal
All cricket below premier 1sts and 2nds should be one day cricket.. 80 over two day cricket is just a long drawn out one day game... one dayers take out fielding in 35 degrees and then turning up to a green top and 20 degrees week two and gets the batters batting each week and the bowlers...
It would certainly be nice to see all cricket in the southern Bayside area work together as one.. for the good of everyone that includes subbies, premier, CSB, Seca etc
Done a great job with the CSB..
I must admit I have moved this season to a CSB club after a long time in the CMCA/SECA.
CSB simply offering a better competition.
Reduction in playing days means reduction in pay days!
Few umps are looking elsewhere. CSB now also paying umps straight in to their bank accounts and invoicing clubs..
Yeh agreed 8, 10, 12 team divs whatever.. mergers, new comps whatever.. just give me a full season of cricket!
not that bothered about having Jan 6th off but should at the very least have a 10th round feb 25/Mar 3. Would then play every team in a two day game.
Interesting fixture structure seca have come up with..
17 weeks of cricket with just 9 rounds?
Most comps are 20 or 21 weeks with 11 to 14 rounds.
Might suit casual cricketers but would suggest any serious cricketers, young or old will be Looking elsewhere.. free kick CSB and Subbies!
