Cricket Victoria - South East Bayside League

The weather is no one's fault. Which is why there should be a reserve date in provision to replay the game if it's abandoned due to the rain. Only way to ensure the fairest result. No one wants to win a Grand Final by default when there's plenty of time to reschedule it.

Disappointing not to have a reserve day for White Ball Grand Final, when there are Reserve Days for other Fixtures and Reserve Days for Red Ball Final. Looks like games will struggle to get on tomorrow as well. Not great from CSB.

Cricket Victoria - South East Bayside League

Removal of the Coin Toss for 2-Day Games was entirely a working party decision. Club's didn't get the option to vote on this, but will be reviewed at the end of this Season apparently. I'm not convinced removal of the toss is the best approach at a local level. If the logic behind this was to...

Cricket Victoria - South East Bayside League

The competition will be managed better then the South was in the VTCA. The non-aligned 2nd XI is a big step in the right direction. I guess the main concern would be the South Caulfield dominance. They didn't seem to have many problems with any of the South teams in Senior Division (VTCA) last...

Cricket Victoria - South East Bayside League

Fair bit of speculation about this new League and who will/won't be playing in it. Not just for the coming Season, but for future Seasons. Last I've heard South Caulfield have now left the VTCA & joined the SEB League. Seems to be a lot happening behind the scenes & with backing from Cricket...

    South Division 2011/12

Congratulations to OM then. My South Division team of the year would be as follows : T. Lamb (Murrumbeena) J. Hawley (Hampton) M. Daykin (Port Melbourne) J. Tolley (Old Mentonians) R. Stewart (Brighton Districts) J. Donnell (Cheltenham) J. Cole (Port Melbounre) (WK) J. Woite (Old Mentonians)...

Anyone care to post the results from the last days play? It would have been a great fight back from Port if they got over the line! And I agree- That team is a wind up. Cheltenham's Scorer defiantly worthy of a mention though.

    South Division 2011/12

If Chelsea get Tolley early (which they may have already done?), then it could make for a very interesting match. Old Mentonians are 7th for total runs on the ladder. And even if Parkdale and Chelsea both win, Chelsea could still jump them in the 4. Will be a very tight squeeze in the 4...

    South Division 2011/12

Brighton don't seem to be given much of a chance at a contender for the flag this year. Some games are still in the balance this round. Port vs. Tangy - Port could outright the Tang, but either way- with that score posted, they will keep top spot. Old Mentonians vs. Chelsea - If Chelsea win...

    South Division 2011/12

All set up for a very interesting last round... You'd expect Port Melbourne to give Tangy a touch and maintain their top spot. Old Mentonians vs. Chelsea. I'm backing Chelsea in to win this at their home ground. Going to have to be a decent win as well, as Brighton are playing Mentone and...

    South Division 2011/12

Must have hit a nerve with my comments. I was reffering to sledges comment that 'funny things' happen in the last few rounds. I would consider Parkdale's pitch being ripped up a funny thing.

    South Division 2011/12

That's a very good point... The League would probably allow them to stay down (or even drop down to South A again- as it seemed to work for them last time). It's pretty poor that a club nominates to stay down or to relegate themselves based on the fact that their Senior players can't be bothered...

    South Division 2011/12

I'm not suggesting that Parkdale delibrately dug up their own wicket.... Just saying I think it's more of a coincidence that people would go to all the effort to pull back the covers and hack up the wicket. I can't see how you'd assume Chelsea would prefer a one-day match either. You chased...

    South Division 2011/12

Very weird things.... I'd like to hear what some of the Chelsea boys think of the weekend's 'weather'. Sitting 6 points out of the 4.

By the looks of the scores they might have saved a bit of money this week then.
