i can happily say that during a day with 12 overs of bowling i can maintain the same run-up pace with my 15 step run-up... and the pace of the ball doesnt really vary either.
the reason y my run-up is fairly long yet i dnt get a GREAT deal of pace (70mph) is because 15 steps...

keeping your eye on the ball is the key point to being a successful batsmen.... if u try and pick up the ball only when its pitched u will be in a world of trouble... watch the ball out of the bowlers hand..... right onto your bat...
