They changed the format a quite a few years ago because of a couple of different reasons.
Firstly, some clubs were severely abusing the spirit of the game, basically saying “our 1st XI are out of finals contention but safe from relegation and our 2s are close to finals. So let’s absolutely...
Pretty sad and disappointing situation for all concerned if true..
Whatever happens, good luck to and hope Greensborough can change their fortune this season.
How many times has it actually happened in the DVCA that a club has had 4 suspensions in a season? When was the last time? Its a bit of a nothing rule that would be lucky to happen once every 15 years.
You’d be wrong. On all those comments. I do like that you suggest I shouldn’t pot someone who is in a volunteer position, then two posts later fire shots at me in my role as a volunteer on here.
You may not like my comments, that’s fine. But they are factually correct.
The Exec has a whole do an ok job. There is always plenty of room for improvement, (fixtures? Website?) but you’re 100% spot on that they are volunteers who spend much of their time to benefit the comp and full credit to them.
Joe on the other hand, I know first hand to be a power hungry, bully...
You mean to tell me that Dictator Joe, was being Dictator Joe once again? It’s hardly surprising, it’s how he’s always operated. His way or the highway everytime, holding others to ransom.
How do you think those clubs have created established teams? They weren't gifted them, they were proactive and worked hard to make their club appealing to girls who would've built up the numbers across time and perseverance.
Maybe they were intimidated by the fact you had bigger boobs than them?
Getting a girls team up is bloody hard work, and you need a minimum of a 3-5 year investment purely to get it off the ground. You won’t get a big influx in one year, keep working hard and hope to gain commitment from 4-6...
Whilst I totally understand the argument that it may "reward" a team for not being able to bat out their overs, I actually like the rule that you should have to go out at bat the 1-5 overs.
It creates some real excitement and mental toughness in a game that normally, lets be honest, are often...
Whilst I get your sentiments, these boundaries were put in place for a reason. You cannot go outside it to just suit some clubs and not others based on who has money and who doesn't. Do we do this for all clubs now? What will be next? Clubs in Box Hill, Balwyn, Clifton Hill, Roxburgh Park?
But as has been pointed out already. The DVCA feel that Rule 7 basically states that they can do whatever the hell they like, whenever they like, without any input from anyone else.
It'll be interesting how this plays out.
This was exactly my thoughts. You currently don't qualify to be accepted, its news to a number of people that you've even applied to join the association, but you're doing newspaper interviews basically saying you think its a done deal.... Very strange.
Although I agree that they will be...
You're both right. Steve played for Diamond Creek for many years, and has also had a stint at Old Paradians and a few years at Riverside.
Coaching is a bloody tough gig that not many people put their hand up for, but its a very rewarding experience. Good on him for having a crack, he will have...
Firstly, there was absolutely no bitching coming from me at all, nor did I mention money or him leaving for coin whatsoever. In fact, I thought what I wrote was fair. There is clearly a reason he has jumped through 7 clubs in recent years, and if it takes 7 clubs for you to finally find your...
He's clearly a very talented cricketer, I don't think that anyone disputes that at all. Personally, I think he even has room to improve, that's how good he could be. One of the best in the comp. But the fact he has churned through so many clubs would have to be a concern for whichever club he...
