The end of the Australian domestic season is here with the Commonwealth Bank Victoria Bushrangers taking on the Alcohol. Think Again Western Australia Warriors at Bellerive Oval in Hobart from the 21st to the 25th of March 2015.

A lot of controversy has surrounded the game with the MCG unable to host the match as the ground is hosting the 2015 ICC World Cup Final. This game was originally slated to be played at Junction Oval but Cricket Victoria chose to play politics and asked to have the game played at Bellerive Oval. The decision violated Cricket Australia rules which stated that if the host team is unable to host the final then hosting rights shall go to the team that finished in second place which is the Warriors.

Despite this, Cricket Australia broke its own rules and put the game at Bellerive anyway which saw the WACA threaten legal action mid-week. However the WACA withdrew their legal action the following day citing "state harmony" as their main reason.

Anyway, the teams for the game are below,

Commonwealth Bank Bushrangers: Chris Rogers, Rob Quiney, Marcus Stoinis, David Hussey, Peter Handscomb, *+Matthew Wade, Daniel Christian, Peter Siddle, Scott Boland, James Pattinson, Fawad Ahmed, Jon Holland (12th man)

Alcohol. Think Again Western Australia Warriors: Cameron Bancroft, Marcus Harris, Michael Klinger, *Adam Voges, Shaun Marsh, +Sam Whiteman, Ashton Agar, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Nathan Rimmington, Andrew Tye, Simon Mackin, David Moody (12th man)

The weather is expected to be good for most of the game in Hobart, a possible afternoon shower may occur on Monday and a possible late shower on Wednesday but other than that it should be fine for the entire game.

WA won the toss and decided to bat first. They are 4/205 in the 66th over, Shaun Marsh was just dismissed for six.

Alcohol. Think Again Western Australia Warriors 4/205 (66.5 overs)

Marcus Harris 81
Cameron Bancroft 55
Adam Voges 41*

Fawad Ahmed 3/46 (17.5)

Another century for Voges, that's his sixth of the season. At the moment he is averaging 109.58 this season and has passed fifty 11 times from 19 innings. Surely he has to be on the plane to the West Indies and England now.

Cameron Bancroft 55
Sam Whiteman 37*

Fawad Ahmed 3/65

WA were bowled out today for 421, Fawad Ahmed starred taking eight wickets for the innings. Victoria are at the crease now and have made a solid start.

A rain interrupted day today, Victoria in the box seat at the moment with two days to go. WA will need quick wickets tomorrow if they are to enforce a result here. Play has also been extended for an hour tomorrow with 105 overs to be bowled in the day.

Victoria knocked over for 381, WA to start batting with a lead of 40 with a minimum of 53 overs left today.

A huge day in the end in the context of the game. Victoria got off to a poor start, losing Stoinis early in the day before Matthew Wade was trapped LBW next ball for a golden duck to put Ashton Agar on a hattrick. He didn't get it but it helped WA close Victoria's innings rather quickly as the tail put up little resistance to see them bowled out for 281 with Nathan Rimmington mopping up the tail.

Harris and Bancroft then put on another hundred run opening stand for the Warriors before Bancroft fell. That then brought Michael Klinger to the crease and he continued the good work that was started earlier, compiling a quick 45 before nicking behind. Captain Voges strode to the crease after that and upped the run rate along with Harris who by then had made his century to get WA to the close of play with all of the momentum.

All up WA are 2/240 at stumps, leading by 280 with one day to play. Play is extended again tomorrow with 104 overs to be bowled to make up for the lost play on day three. The Warriors will probably need to keep batting for a short period and then declare to give themselves enough overs to bowl Victoria out. The forecast for tomorrow is good, partly cloudy and 20 degrees with no rain expected so we should see a full day's play tomorrow.

Whatever the case day five is set to be a cracker.

Well if you're a Warriors fan like myself the day ended in disappointment. Western Australia batted for five overs early on day five and scored 50 runs before declaring at 2/294, a lead of 333 with 95 overs left in the day.

Victoria seemed intent on batting for the draw from the get-go and, only needing a draw to win the Shield, were prepared to go as slow as they liked. Despite wickets at semi regular intervals the Warriors never really threatened to bowl the Bushrangers out and after 95 overs, the Vics crawled to 4/158, a run rate of just 1.66 runs per over.

Overall Victoria collected their 29th Sheffield Shield, their first since 2009/10. 2014/15 was WA's second successive Sheffield Shield final loss having been runners up last season. Altogether, WA's Shield winless streak is now at 16 years, having not won the Shield since 1998/99. They do however have 15 titles, third on the all-time list.
